almost makes me wanna start learning to do bodywork :) almost but not quite lol

looking good

Hangover car work is a *******os!
We put the engine back into an impreza hungover last week and it took twice as long to do all the fiddly bits!
Get it finished, I should be down your way to have a look within the month (thats why I was ring a ding dinging yesterday)

Ollie

its getting there now, had a new lease of life put into me to get it finished...seen so many numptys driving around town thinking there the dogz dangleys...so gotta put them straight! slammed caddy will be around soonish!

ollie, give us a text when your down and hopefullly i shall be about :)

woodwork is now added to the list of things im not that great at! haha, had an hour spare at home and thought about making some more door cards out of bit of fibre board! jeez there poor efforts! haha..not yet finished but il stick up a before shot of one and then the final one when done ;)

well more of an update, yesterday i started some of the serious welding which started with the bonnet.. the front lip was rotted the fook, and me being me would go and buy anothe one...budget project i tell ye! haha.... replicated a new lip...filled some of the pitted bits with metal filler, then skims of filler rubbed back and came up reasonably well considering there was nothing there before....gotta flatten it back today, etch prime then high build it if ive got time.....also sorted the tailgate to the best of my ability...it was pretty bad if you look at the pics previously! haha...and the final bit was on the drivers door..fair bit of welding...bitch of a job again but it'l do! got few more bits to weld on body work and still got to sort the issue of a passengers door... it had been stoved in and someone had plastered it with filler...no joke, its about 12mm deep and an are that runs about 30cm by 25cm...feck knows what i can do with it :S

ill try get some more pics today :)

your getting too good at that m'boy :p :p and matt primer white looks so damn sweet too

dare i ask, how did you get on with the pick up bed ?

haha, cheers mate, not bad for a postman of 21 thats never done anything like it before...it shant be primer white for long, ive picked up the paint today...britsh standard dark brown in solid 2 pack! hope to get a good shine with that..havent opened the rin as im scared as there is no returns! haha

as for bed, i just done a few patches but didnt bother to try and get it good or sort dings because the caddy aint good enough to start with...prob end up laying sown some marine wood or checker plate or summit! haha

chequer's cheap and looks it too but as you are going for brown i reckon wood would be better

black routing and dark stain in a marine deck style to match the bed shape, even logo it then too or laminated strips make a lined old style pattern to it ?

have to tweak the colours but i reckon you could replicate this in principle with a ball router and a steady hand ;) lol

just see it now with a VW logo in the middle and led's sidewalk lighting lol

412 colour code ? got a slight yellow army tinge about it

yeah thats the code flapper..what you think? a young lad can pimp it? the wood is deffo the way im thinking....if not im thinking the chequer plate, but in check style.....black square, cream sqaure and so on......

cheers craig! its not to good but im sure be pimp enough for me...i just keep looking at the state it was and begining of this thread

i like it, very army and fits the era/style as it were for sure but with subtle standard style black plastic/rubbers bumpers etc should see it just right

how about a chequered tonneau cover black/cream with an aged look about it be good

just covered my motox seat in leftover black suede - stays wet and turns purple after a week :)

lots of elbow and prep (so i'm told) as i'm useless at bodywork hence why i love satin black and red oxide

i would imagine if you manage to flat it back shiny then lacquer it ?

asking the wrong one here i'll confess :):)
