hi i bought the cruise control stalk for my leon (bargain at £15 from a scrappy)

i have had the cruise activated by the fantastic guys at 'the motorist centre' in canterbury

i was wondering if anyone knew where i could buy the loom
the part number is 1J0 971 425 however when i search for it on vagparts.co.uk i cant find it, the only one i find is one called j10loom .. is this the right one, last garage i phoned for the part they quoted something rediculous like £60 for the loom

i dont mind spending £20 .. but £60 is TOO much

£60 would get you the complete kit from Skoda inc the stalk, looms and a nice instruction book.

Just wondering if you have got this working yet, as I am thinking of doing the same.
I have heard that it will only work if you have a drive by wire throttle.
See item 370117308360 on eBay.

Yes, because it uses the ECU to control the speed of the cruise, all seat 1m's are drive by wire though, or at least that's my understanding (perhaps someone can prove me wrong!)

I also thought they were all drive by wire, but then I read this

How to check your vehicle has 'Drive By Wire'

(Diesel Engines)

Sit with the vehicle in Neutral, Rev it upto 2,000RPM & at the same time put your foot on the brake pedal.

The rev's should drop back to idle.

When I tried doing that on my 2004 Cupra TDi nothing happened.

Maybe that test doesn't apply to my particular car?

I think that would be fairly helpful, as i think this is something that most people could do given the right instructions and obviously have the right tools.
