i was actually looking at original G60 mk2 golfs and E30 M3's and came across this one i read about them, its basically the 4 motion in the leons. and yes a charger on that would SHIFT!!!!
i think this version would feel much more well built and handle tons better than the Cupra R.
if only i had loads of money to throw away, ide buy it, change it to RHD and wack the charger on!!
I can't see how it would feel better built, as it's the same as any other Leon in terms of build quality, components, materials etc. Even screwed together in the same way!
What would worry me though is the fact it's got a big heavy engine over the front wheels, that's going to make the handling a lot more vague with a big tendency to understeer much more than the LCR. And since the suspension etc is closer to the LC than the LC, you'll end up with a great cruising car that's not so hot on the handling.
There was a yellow one in autotrader last week for sale, was already in mph etc, looked very nice!
Whats wrong with the LC suspension? Just put decent coilovers and some ARB's on the V6 and it'll handle pretty much the same as an LCR with those mods. OK there's a bit more weight up front from the V6, but don't forget there's slightly more weight at the back too, so it still should be pretty well balenced.

My car currently handles better than an LCR with whole suspension kit. HOWEVER Rob is right, standard LC suspension is good but not so good compared to LCR suspension.Whats wrong with the LC suspension? The fact is tho it isnt better...its factual cant be argued with...Personally I'd say it's no better, if not worse. But I won't start that one again, I don't want to be linched by all the other R owners at the next meet I go to![]()
Surely this is just a MKIV Golf V6 4Motion in a Seat frock? I know these golfs aren't that highly rated in terms of performance or handling (I was considering one for a mad moment before I saw the light and bought my LCR) so not sure I see what all the fuss is about? I would infinately prefer an LCR.
