Whats wrong with the LC suspension? Just put decent coilovers and some ARB's on the V6 and it'll handle pretty much the same as an LCR with those mods. OK there's a bit more weight up front from the V6, but don't forget there's slightly more weight at the back too, so it still should be pretty well balenced.

By your own logic, the LC suspension is pretty poor.

You say the LCR handles like a barge, but you'd have to perform expensive modifications to get the LC to handle as well as the LCR. So by following your logic and theory, the LC must be pretty poor.

Now go and add a load of extra weight over the front end of it and you have made things even worse!

if the cupra 4 came in rhd i'd have one. the vr6 lump sounds fantastic compared to the 1.8t lump. have a look for the EIP R32 on youtube to hear that engine with a turbo bolted on.

No mate, what I meant was you need to make suspension mods on both to make them handle right, and once you've replaced the suspension and ARB's on both they'll handle fairly equally...

I wasn't saying the standard LCR suspension handles as well as decent aftermarket LC kit...

I meant the LCR suspension, not the LC ;)
Sorry I misread what you meant...

Just to clarify what I mean...:)

The LCR handles a lot better than the LC. I know this because I did a direct comparision with my fr which has same suspension as the LC before I modded. I am talking about an hour drive on a and b roads with my car and the LCR. The LCR roles a lot less and turns in a lot sharper. However once you mod like you said then you get better setup than a standard lcr :)

i was quiet dissapointed with the LCR, its ok if you drive it nicely but give some and it just fels too nimble for me. a the cupra 4 is what i would prefer. especially with the motorway driving i do.

It feels too nimble? I don't understand. Next you'll be saying it goes too fast and goes round corners too smoothly.

You see this is where I disagree. I've owned 1 cupra, 2 R's and drive a TDI FR a reasonable amount too. And I don't personally think the R handles much, if at all, better.

i had the 180bhp cupra which i felt was much more solid esp when handling round corners, the reason i say this is that my LCR ive nearly lost the back end twice when pushing hard, also the power doesnt get put down as much as teh cupra used too, personally i feel you have to change alot more things on the LCR jsut to get it right to match the engine.

isnt this post about thecupra 4???

Having never driven an LC I cannot honestly comment on whether it handles better or worse than an LCR. I'm sure 4wd would make a noticeable difference to handling though (to get back on topic!).
