need bit of trimming the engine cover but you can make it look standard if you take your time cost about 45 from dealers and stiffens up the front end a fair bit!

thought it wouldnt be possible to fit a stut brace with this cover still on as the is no space at rear or above engine really to fit it? good if your right tho.

arnt the cupra engine covers diffrent shape to the other mk4 model engine covers

that looks wicked!!!! suppose it would fit. do they do diffrent colours how much did you pay for it?

cupra and fr are the same just cupra has silver bit where mine has those little holes
the bit you need to trim is the bit that slants upwards around the dump valve area you might be able to see it on mine.
there is a line in the cover before it slopes up i cut along this neatly and cut bit off the dv bulge and sanded the edge and it looks like it was made like that

just been searching on the net for a seat sport strut brace cant seam to find 1 for sale bin directly on the seat website can you point me in the right direction ne1:shrug:

It's on the seat website, try clicking on the services link & selecting accessories - it 's in the sport bit

dont bother about that its a feature of them everyones do it now and again!

I have installed a bit of rubber and although the rattle on the air box stops, I have a resonating sound which can’t find were it comes from. If I remove the strut brace it disappears, if I put it on, it comes back. Anyone have a similar “problem”?

it is ur airfilter box.. to test it remove ur engine cover and put it in the boot for a trip home

mine does it all air filter... and when my new part arrives ill show u how i think its fixable lol

Engine cover is free from "anything", but I will check.:)
(If Seat made a strut brace (Momo), why didn’t they check if it was 100% compatible and free from touch anything? At least I think this way...) .

That way, they should say it is not totally compatible with the 1.9 TDI engine because it touch the airbox making some annoying noise :(

This weekend I will remove it again, and try to find any definitive solution. Then, and if the results were positive  , I post something.

Cheers

if ya want to know my plan its to cut that section out of the air filter houseing and then smooth thos estupid ridges off the top once i have a flat bit ill then cut a 10mm out of the rear side of the filter house and taper it up to the top so i have about 20 degre angle and re fibreglass teh smooth bein gof plastic back in it should sit a fair bit lower and hopefully not bang.

if this works ill then try and get it vaccum molded and then possibly sell it on if people would be interested
