Right, on my 04 plate Cupra TDI, there is no washer fluid getting to the rear screen. I jacked the car up and had a look underneath but couldnt see a hose going to the rear, so i operated the rear wash wipe, and had another look underneath. Theres water p*ssing out the box section under the passenger side of the car, almost right at the front of the floor. is this where the hose for the rear washer runs(inside the box section)? or is it more likely leaking out somewhere else and just running off the box section?

Thanks for any help.

Scott

Runs along the trim by the passenger foot well in the U channel there.

Seems that the connections in the hose pop off unless you use at least 75% screen wash!

Sisters popped off just inside the engine bay on the passenger side, causing water to build up on one of the chassis arms. Might be worth checking there.

ok thanks for the replies, its definately disconnected around the engine bay somewhere, just a pity that the engine bay is crammed full its quite hard to see anything lol.

Common fault happened with my last Cupra as well now same thing with my FR keep taking it to dealer to be fixed 10 minute job bl**dy annoying though

"Ten minute job". Not on a TDi it aint, unless you have VERY long thin fingers (about 8 inches long should do the trick). Though I believe it's fairly easy on a petrol engined Ibiza. You've got to laugh... or you'd cry sometimes!

yep pain in the ass.

Yeah apparently its the cold weather that causes this one. Had it fixed last month and its stopped working again. I just stop using the damn thing. Last time they fixed it they said it would be chargeable next time LOL!

I'm due at my dealer this morning for a new alloy wheel cos I curbed the front left one badly :( I'll get them to fix the rear washer again.

Mine's also just gone for the second time, however, this time I think its also caused the power steering warning light to come on. Read elsewhere here that some of those connections don't like the damp.
Does anybody actually have a this is how you fix it guide for this damn thing (esp in TDi's 'cos 8 inch fingers I ain't got)?

So far the connection at the other end has only come off once.

Hi

Re - power steering light coming on. Is this just when you start the engine sometimes and if you switch the engine off, then straight back on it goes out? If it is, then this is yet another common fault and I suspect nothing to be worried about. Though having said that. mines in for a service next week and I have mentioned the power steering warning light to them.

MikeO, it seems to be.
First came on Friday night, drove for maybe 5 miles with it on, no real discernable difference - until I parked it up, when it felt a bit heavier.
Restart 10minutes later - no warning light.
Same scenario Saturday, but nothing Sunday.

Anyway, doing a search ,which seeems the only way to find stuff here, looks like it's nearside wheel off followed by removal of liner then a bit of finger fiddling.
ooh er missus, but standard for the TDi I think, anybody else had the fun of changing a headlamp bulb on that side of the car..
