I had power steering light come on due to the cold and damp. My dad's an electrical engineer in a dairy so has some spray stuff that keeps the damp out of connectors. Its called Unipel and is made by Unicorn.
Basically you cover the connectors with it and let it dry so that it forms a water resistant barrier.
I soaked the connectors on the pump and the battery with it and I've not had the problem with the pump since.
Something like that may help if the hose keeps washer hose keeps blowing off and soaking everything.
