How the car stood when i bought it...

was a previous member on here that had it before, and before that it had apparently sat on a farm unused for about a year.

Engine bay was pretty filthy and some of the plastic above the catch has snapped off which is a bit annoying as looks a bit rough, so they both got a tidy up.

Got the car home and ran it for about a fortnight before a leaky sump forced me to change it out, cars just too damn low for the crappy country roads.

Can just about make out on the sump where the leak was coming from, looked like it had been scraping off everything on the road.

Had a few issues with this line that ran about 2" across the sump but after some internet research and fiddling about, figured it was safe enough to just pull it out the way a little bit and the sump should have enough room to just drop down

Also changed out the low hanging mud flaps for some Seat ones,

Looks much better imo for such a simple thing to change.

Sump wasn't in the best condition once it was off, so binned it and set about giving the area a bit of a clean in preparation for the new one going on. I apologise for the quality of photos here, its bloody hard to get a decent angle from squished under a car.

Not much of an actual size difference for something called a 'shallow' sump, but it is much stronger than the stock one so will do the job im needing it for.

Didn't actually get any pictures of the new one on as it got dark and i couldn't be arsed to jack it up again just for a photo, but so far its been brilliant, even when i thumped it off a pothole by accident when i got lost down a farm track, not even a dent when i inspected it.

Next was a little local meet, not much to say apart from it only gave me more ideas into what I should do it the car, mainly in search of more power at this point. :p

The quest for more power was quickly halted when it popped an intercooler pipe off on the dual carriage way and destroyed itself :ban:, Luckily managed to force the horrendously misshaped pipe back into the silicone and make it home to try and fix the problem. (Will try and get some pics of the pipe if i still have it, its a sight to see, pretty much a straight line)

Thought this was the end of the issue with a new pipe securely in place, but low and behold less than a fortnight later same thing happened again on the dual carriageway...again, utterly destroying another pipe, and so the quest to re-route the FMIC began.

Thanks to Jokerman for some advice and also for sorting me out with some pipework to re-route it with. Much appreciated.

Wasn't much money coming in for a while due to finishing uni and changing jobs so not much happened to the car, but i did spray the FMIC black as i was getting pissed off with having Forge stenciled on a non-forge cooler, so that kept me happy for all of five minutes.

Quite hard to make out in the images, but i much prefer having it hidden away instead of being quite glarey.

Desperately in search of a new front bumper as the one on it just now has been hacked to bits, will try and tidy it up the best I can for now but not a fan of the widemouth look anyway.

Fitted a OMP rear strut and removed the rear seats and noticed an immediate change in the handling, still to get round to fitting the wishbone strut and top mount struts, which might get done this weekend depending.

Unfortunately have no photos of the re-routed pipework in the bay, or the brembos or the stripped out seats as I've lost my usb cable, but once i look it out il get some up then.

Cheers,
Andy

Car flashed up with Abs and Tcs lights the other day so I examined the abs sensors and replaced the passenger n/s, (f*cking stupid way of getting the sensors out, thing was absolutely destroyed once it was out) annoyingly the lights are still on the dash so its leading me to think MAF? Will be giving it a clean at the weekend possibly.

imag0225m.jpg

Finally had the chance to give the car a clean aswel (not the best) but it hadn't been cleaned in about a month so was really needing one.

Got a half day from work today as a power line came down so we were all told to go home, which gave me a chance to sort out some of the bumper.

Trimmed the edges where the bar should run across as previous owner had left about an inch or so of the plastic which made it look horrible,

Bumper off...

imag0234s.jpg

imag0235i.jpg

Trimmed a little neater...

imag0236p.jpg

Also replaced a few more boost pipes while i had it off, so of course I had to go check to see if they'd pop off...like this...

Good fun having no bumper on

Nice car mate, cooler looks better in black.

When fitting the rear omp strut was it a case of taking off the 2 nuts & big washers?

I had a little look the other day but was having abit of trouble getting 1 side on as the interior plastic in the boot seemed to be in the way a little

Yeah, really easy job to do, I just removed the rear plastics anyway, but their only held on by 4 screws so their easy enough to be put back if you prefer
