I am new to the forum and have tried to find any details of bulb replacement with LED bulbs for D L R's, but didn't see anything.

I bought a 2013 Mark 3 with standard headlamps. I was very disappointed that it didn't have the LED daylight running lights which are very attractive.

The lights on mine are like traditional filament sidelamp bulbs and have no presence and pretty dim looking.

I bought on Ebay the following bulbs

2X1156 P21W 120 LED 3528 SMD White Car Turn Signal Tail Light

They look great, but don't appear to dim when I switch on the sidelamps. I will check them again when it gets dark! They do go out when the headlamps are switched on. I expected a bulb warning but so far everything is normal.

They wont dim because the standard headlight unit doesnt do that, only the LED unit does so it doesnt matter what bulb or led you fit, it wont dim.

Spot on. The LED units use an entirely different 'control unit' so it isn't possible to get the same dimming effect on the halogen units.

Don't be too jealous of the LEDs though. Mine have been faulty since day one and I'd happily swap them for the standard halogens if it were possible! They're an absolute nightmare if they go wrong.

yes, I have read about the problems and sorry to see that they are not as good as they should be. Maybe I am lucky!

I am not bothered they don't dim, it means I can have my tail lights and bright DLR on together.

I now have nice bright white DLRs, so I am happy!

No problems with mine so far!

I should hope not Pew!

It does seem to be a relatively isolated problem to be fair. Very few have any issues at all. The ones that do, however would happily take a baseball bat to them if they didn't know how expensive they are to replace!

I love mine but same as above, I'm going to hate the day they go wrong if I keep the car 10 or so years down the line
