I'm sorting it out with forced performance later today,

I'm looking at moving my batter in to the spare wheel well what is actually needed todo this? It just so I can have a larger tip and filter too,

Also I've seen a few people running no expansion tank what is that part call from merlIn motorsport ? And is I worth it

:D

I know Im just weighing up the option to make my own downpipe....I can buy a Full t25 flange & 90 bend for £40 with AFR port in it...

ive made a exhaust before but that was a Catback system on a 2.0 corsa.....Id need to purchase a TIg too...Most people would class it as too much hassle but its something id like to learn and also means i can do my Charge in Stainless too....

its all about personally doing tbh not payin for someone else to sort it..

Do it mate, buy yourself a Tig welder, mine was £250 or 260 can't remember. The one i bought is fine and its a 3 in 1 Plasma & Tig & Arc.
If you search for a CT416 on ebay it should come up, there is a slightly cheaper version but i never go for the cheapest of anything :D

Personally i find the TIG welding nice and easy cos you can take your time, with MIG and ARC you have to move fast as the filling material melts.

I found a great website with loads of videos - http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/mig.htm

And your right - DIY feels soooo good :D

TIG is easy to do but its a black art to get realy good penetrating welds. With TIG its all down to the preperation of the material to get the best welds. Very satisfying though :)

tig is a master to work out, ali is a bugger to work with still learning on my miller tig welder but stainless i can do easy weird though same technique when tig welding ali

these all in one tig welders are not that great when you pay £250-300 when mine cost £2k which is going to do the better job ?

Bit of a stupid question aint it ??? obviously the one that cost you 2 grand  obviously yours is a AC/DC TIG so you can weld ali, thats what bumps the price up.

As with anything in this live you get what you pay for, there fine for the DIY use thats what there aimed at. I've not had any issues with mine.

I would say if your using one daily then yeh get a named brand (expensive) but if your just welding pipes / small ish stuff there's no point.

Currently buying bits for my downpipe v-band flanges...

But my question is Stainless or mild steel i spoke to 3 lads today running 2871r and g60 turbos ihi and there both running mild steel downpipes..

And the other lad with a gt30 200zx had a mild steel too....I have a mig welder to hand ...

looking for advice really people have as alway different options

I would recommend stainless as it takes the heat better than BDMS without too much expantion and movement
TIG'd welds always look nice too
Down to cost i suppose

Im going to be using stainless steel t304 also going to be using my Mig to TACK it together and im taking it to work to have it TIG for free Which im suprised i didnt think of before..

Is the OE egt 1/8NPT and the Lambda m18 bosses?

I thought EGT sensor was either housed in turbo or exhaust manifold.
You may struggle to MIG stainless, do you have stainless wire in MIG??
