limits the engine revs to 3,000 rpm - but no turbo at all - so you have about 60bhp (my guestimate - no idea what the actual figure is - but its not much!).

You can get up to 70mph on a motorway still - but i wouldn't fancy having to pull out of a junction quickly as you have very limited power.

Spot on Tam - I went out to the car (in the garage) this morning, and the light is still on.
I idled the car for a while then gave it some revs, and did see it wouldnt rev over 3000K.

Do you think the car can be driven like this if im careful ?
My wife needs her car for her work, and without the use of my own car, getting to the office by public transport would be almost impossible (and SEAT cant take it in until Thursday)!

Just goes to show, even an FR doesnt like to be blatted around much, before it starts dying, then throwing up random errors! Proves its not really a "performance" car, and perhaps I should start driving it like a pensioner, just to keep it happy.

The car will only rev to 3,000 rpm when stationary with your foot on the clutch. Take it out of gear and foot of the clutch and it will rev to the red line.

This is standard on any Leon FR diesel.

Once above about 10mph it'll rev to the red line when you press the clutch.

I've done 500+ miles on "limp mode" and the dealer still fixed it.

Hi, I got my car "serviced" today. It's it second service since I bought it in May 2009. I have 28k kms on the clock. After driving for about 50km after the service I noticed that the emission control system light is lit.

My car went in perfect to the dealer and now this happen afterwards. The dealer says that this was nothing to do with them without even seeing my car. I am so annoyed!!!!!

Question 1. is this just a coincidence??
Question 2. What is the warranty on a Cupra in Ireland?
Question 3. Will this cost a fortune to repair?

Thanks in advance

Was you car new when you had it ?

1 Impossible to say it may be a coincidence.
2 I the car was new in 2009 then it should still be in warranty.
3 Covered by number 2.

:ban:

And torque = turbo... which bit of limp mode = no turbo do you not get?

What about the part where no one said limp mode = no turbo and the fact it restricts you to 3000rpm and peak torque is just above 2000rpm...?
:banned:

Speaking from experience as mine went into limp mode the other night, yes it is very sluggish but it certainly not completely undrivable, just very restrictive.
