Delocking/Colour Coding Guide

Hello all,

Just wondering whether it's worth my time...

I'm just in the middle of delocking the GTi and colour coding the handles. Has a guide for this already been done?

I've got the parts all in pieces and could shed some light on it for people who aren't very adventurous!

Don't think there is a guide, but I know its a simple de-locking procedure in removing handles with locks and replacing them with ones with no locks.

pull a grommet (just inside the door shut level with the handle)

undo the allen bolt seen inside

remove handle and lock barrel assy

replace with plain (rear) door handle (pre-painted if reqd)

Was only tryna help

Did mine last week and the laquer is still soft . Tried compunding it earlier to take out the orange peel (did it from a can) and it was carving right through it.... doh!

Wanted these on a week or so ago!
