diagnostic light came on, foglight fault relevant?

Hey on sat my diagnostic light came on, the car runs fine. I noticed my front fogs now dont work. I disconnected the battery for half an hour and then reconnected and the light came straight back on. Could this be related to my fog lights? Any ideas or any1 else had similar experience?
Any help appreciated Thanks :)

To edit this, I checked the bulbs with a circuit tester and all the fuses. I know a bit about electrics, but am unsure with the multiplex wiring on where to go next.

had the same prob a little while ago not with fog lights though, light came on, on a cold morning tried disconnecting the battery for two hrs and the light came straight back on again. car was running fine though. got advised to get vag com, was going to get a diagnostics report that weekend, when the light just disappeared, have'nt seen it since and cars fine just put it down to a faulty or dirty sensor maybe...

I'd doubt its the fog lights..
I recently had my o/s fog light cracked by a gritter, smashed bulb and casing,
didn't have any light come on,
..but it might be different on different spec cars (mines a se tdi 110)

Nah fog light won't cause management light to come on but I would say it's a faulty electrical issue personally.

The vag com scan will reveal all :)

Hey i managed to sneek off in my dinner time and got the fault red, it came up as can bus unit ( then loads more but i forget) and unknown. When the man cleared the faults the light stayed off, i have done 20 or so miles and it has not come back. Any ideas on the cause? its a cupra tdi also
