sorted! :) short shifter is awesome. the bit that broke must has been over worn and broke easy. £7 to replace from VW so bought 2 in case it have happened again. I would still recommend this mod to anyone and likely hood is it would still take you under half hour total.

another lover of the 91p short shifter right here !!!!
i think i made mine to short so had to modify the selector arm :D
but it feels piiiimp

Ive ordered a new Shifter part from VW to do a forge adjustable short shift to allow me to take it back to stock should i wish with the old one.

Whos done the side to side mod?

Worth the time/money?

any pis of the linkage before (ie factory linkage) and the Forge version so i can see any mods this has? (Im guessing just a E-longated movable arm like the other!)

Sorry Forge yours is a bit £££ heavey

Me, its on page 5 :)

No money really involved, an M8 bolt instead of an M10, remove the old pin and redrill 20mm down.

Does feel a bit tighter L<->R, I would say it doesn't have as great an effect as the front/back modification though.

I'd say worth it, if you're spending the time and effort p*ssing about removing the other part of the shifter you might as well do the side-to-side at the same time :)

Thanks mate, Im such a mong fully missed that!

Ill order the side to side set up then also

Anyone know the partcode? Please

Out of interest, how much was it? Does it come with a new pin?

Fancy a short shift, the throw on the gearbox is just ridiculous. Trying to decide whether to DIY it on the car or not! Reading the posts it seems pretty straightforward, its just the thought of actually having to take a drill to selector while its still on top of the gearbox!

I know there is plenty of information in the thread, but has anyone done an actual guide on this?
