• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
My light initially came on after 500 or so miles, AmD then took the car back and were working on a solution for a week or so, now have the car back mpg has improved, no lights and still producing the same power (231bhp & 350ft/lb)

Ah ok mate, my big problem is im up in scotland and CC HQ is down south, i got it done by there agent J.Gracie, did you find there was any power loss when your light was on? Or was it just MPG?

Didn't appear to be any power loss, just poorer MPG than I was expecting, and occasionally the car would drive differently and sound more raucous, which I think may have been the ECU trying to cause a regen.

Hmmmm my mpg just now is about 43-45? I havn't noticed any different noises on start up or anything, but it must be ecu related, logged a vag com check, is coming up intermitent lamda probe and static EGT sensor which has been replaced!!! Hopefully CC will get back to me which they said they will today, but no joy yet. It's pretty annoying

go back and play hell![:@]
you have paid a fortune for something and its not working correctly/faulty.
if need be threaten going to trading standards as you have been sold something thats not as described!
harsh maybe, but it mite get some action

Unfortunately you guys are the guinea pigs and as the engine and ecu were designed with the dpf attached you can hardly complain about the ecu struggling to deal without one or the sensors packing up. I've been to AMD and they know their stuff but I'm still not sure I would go down the dpf delete route unless I was out of warranty and my dpf failed. Difficult to get anything from cc as they will blame seats ecu and sensors not their equipment and obviously seat will just laugh at you if you contact them. Seems like you need someone like AMD who know that bit more about the ecu etc.

Hi guys...had this same issue exactly. MPG dropped to about 28-34MPG. Also exhaust note changed, this is very noticeable as I have a full custom exhaust.

This was explained as its the ECU trying to dump diesel to the DPF to burn off the soot. But when its removed its dumping diesel into your exhaust, the heat in exhaust is burning it making the exhaust smoke more dense and changing the note you can hear. Also had the engine warning light. As explained on another post. Its not a sensor. Its the map.

Mine has since all been sorted out by my mapper in NI. I was expecting issues as a tester.

But at the end of the day, you have paid for a service. Its up to the mapper to fix it

Went to j.Gracie's today to find out the problem with the car, i have changed the wrong EGT sensor(orange plug) the right one is the (brown plug) So that's £106 down the drain, and now another outlay of £106. Will not be happening for the next couple of weeks as i have to pay my £2000 insurance off in a oner. So funds are tight, but after that, hopefully it will ne fine, such a pain in the back side. I should have the VAG garage that supplied the part told me it was deffo the right one....... Never ends

M0rk,

Why do you think we had spent MONTHS on 3 different cars to ensure that the DPF is working correctly without any problems?

Not one of the cars we have seen here at JBS or heard of any other car require re-tuning after a delete package that WERENT part of development

How's that statement working out?

Hi Mork,

As you can see from Bigg addicted's last post, the fault with his car is nothing to do with the tuning or the de-dpf, but a failed sensor.

The EGT sensors can break quite easily so care needs to be taken when fitting.

We have still had no issues with any of the cars with De-dpf downpipes or tuning and have just had another delivery of De-dpf downpipes ready for sale.

I'd be fuming if I was you.

Not be impressed at all, seems like a money pit....... think i'd stick with stage 1 and the dpf.....

Surely they cant keep saying its a problem with sensors and nothing to do with the fitting/tuning? Too much of a coincidence!

Did you have any sensor issues at all before the dpf delete?

Nothing mate!!! The cars only done 13000 miles!!!

thats crazy, I'd be fuming (sure you are)

dunno how the guys that fitted it (or designed it) can just wash their hands of it and say 'it's a failed sensor, nothing to do with de-dpf' if that's true then you're the unluckiest person I know...... stay away!

That is shocking mate. Not a nice experiance after you have pumped all that money into the DPF-Delete. :censored:

There has to be some reasson why the sensors have failed. ?

AS i stated in earlier posts, I have had the engine warning light, but it was the map not the sensors. Even thou VAG-COM showed sensor faults, it was the map causing the sensors to fault. Once a good map was applied everything was fine. No sensors replaced. Im not saying its the same in your case. But that was my experiance

THe good news is i have phoned up the guy up my way who did it, he is a nice guy, he said bring it in on saturday and he will see what he can do, i think he realises this isn't just unlucky.. For now the light is out as it is a sparatic fault, got vagcom to switch it off, but it will probs come back on shortly!

well, that's something at least....

hope you get it resolved once and for all soon.

good luck and keep us updated.

Cheers chris, well in honesty when the sensors got replaced, there have been no problems, however it has only been driven 100-200 miles with the new egt's. But hopefully they will be fine. I just hope i get this sorted as i do love the dpf delete. But this is costing to much. To top it off i have insurance in 2 weeks for a couple of grand!! So lucky i share rent!!!!!!

take it back and get your money back for DPF delete and get them to put it back to standard see what happens then and get them to pay for all the sensors you had to buy.

its a joke all this you having to put up with!
