plus 3 is far too highhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :)

as above i recommend plus 1, maybe plus 2....

but as ever it is car dependant, as some cars will run higher settings than others,

I run P3 + 2.
I rarely get the chance to boot it, but when I do it's nice.
I just got some better tyres, so I'll be looking to try them out soon. :D

To throw in my two pennies worth of my box experience so far.
When buying, Andrews suggested I go on a spin at 1+1, 3+1 and 2+1. Found 1+1 aggressive, 3+1 refined and 2+1 the one that seemed right.
Perversely (?), have been driving so far on 3+1.Wanting to give each setting a good outing over time, before coming to any final preference conclusion. MPG is interesting. I had been getting 49 to 50 mpg consistently - real figures on a tank fill and not screen display figures. With the box in, the screen was showing a clear improvement - up to 10% on some regular runs I do. Tank fills show about 47 mpg, which is more in line with what I would expect. I had read somewhere that the box can fool the screen display, but I don't pretend to understand why.
Downside so far? The very occasional power loss blip (I wouldn't call it judder) while driving. Can't pinpoint what I am doing when this happens. I am certainly not overtaking or something like that, as never any problem when 'using' the box. Have tried not to change things, so could be the need to move from standard supermarket diesel?
Plus side? Well, only to say that I cannot imagine driving without it.
Will shortly be changing to 1+1 for a while. Further comments to come anon.

I had some long drives during the Easter, still on 2+1 - must say that overtaking is a hell of a lot more fun now than with standard, but you really have to keep an eye on the speed in general lol :)

Regarding the mpg, I also had a chance to fill it up and that tank->tank mileage was ~50mpg, just the same as without the box, which I find great taking into consideration that the fun factor has gone up quite a lot.
Keep in mind that I am still driving with winter tyres and the weather is still relatively cold.

Your stereo will go up to 10 but you wouldnt listen to it that high as the speakers would either break or distort, Same scenario im guessing Garry :D

Hi all, does anyone have any information regarding the long term use of these boxes in terms of the effect on the engine?

I'm specifically interested in the extra power going through the engine and if this causes increase wear for example. Or if it can degrade parts quicker than it would have been without the box.

I ask as I'm looking to purchase the DTUK CRD3+ Tri-Channel Tuning System and I'd have it in my car for a very long time (we're talking over 4 years), so obviously wondering long term effects it could have.

Hi Action script is your car 150 or 184 ? mine is 150 and was lively before I had the 3 channel system fitted now the difference is night and day I went in a brief spin the other day a standard 184 even the rep from the dealership said Jesus this thing feels quick from the word go long term report I cant give yet best money spent so far miles per gallon reading 60+ on long run average speed motor way 70 to 85 incredible I think for how much performance on tap there is quality of box top notch fitting and set up simple win win in my eyes I did think long and hard before as I have always gone remap rout but up to 500 quid for a remap no retain on value on a remap pay your money that's it simples cant transfer map etc you would not use the extra power all the while as there would be a good chance licence will be lost hope this is helpful for you
best regards garry

Hi Garry,

I've got a 184 SC. From what I've read the box has very good reviews here, and just a bit of "judder" when people put their foot down in top gear while in low revs, which is understandable so I can get past that.

The only thing holding me back is the long term effect it could have on the engine (and any other part due to the extra power - e.g. flywheel). If I was only having the car a year I'd buy the box right now, but as I'm having the car for another 4 and a half years, if it causes any issue with the engine I could be coughing up a lot of money.
