I've been running the CRDT+ box for a little while now and find the best setting for overall performance / power delivery is 2 +3. I've tried all settings, 1 + anything seemed too snappy in 1st & 2nd, and 3 + anything seemed a nice and smooth delivery with more at the top end. However I've found 2 + 1, 2 or 3 the best, I do around 100 miles per day and more and have ran it for the longest time on map 2, and have slowly increased to +2 then +3 with no adverse reactions...I've now just about done 1000 miles on the 2 + 3 setting and I'm more than happy leaving it as is. MPG on DIS is up from 49/50 mpg to 60/61mpg and I've achieved a real world MPG increase of 5/6 MPG, and almost 100 miles per tank more!!
Until fitting the box I'd done 7000 miles in the car since purchase in January and have never, ever achieved near or over 500 miles per tank, usually around 400/420, now on its 5th tank since fitting I've never had less than 450 per tank and now settled on a setting its recently achieved 500+ and its WAAAAYYY more fun to drive!! So very impressed all in all!! As I was years ago with DTUK'S early 'jumper' style box I ran on my SAAB Vector Sport, I had that on the car from 80,000k till when I sold it on, with box still fitted and 145k on the clock!! Again, no adverse conditions here either...

Highly rate DTUK

Just got my crd3+ today and can't wait to try it out got a 184 manual. I'll report back once I've had a chance to thoroughly test it!

Good to know that others are reporting an increase in fuel economy I'm also getting around 400 to a tank maybe 420 but never in the 500's. Granted I didn't buy it for fuel economy but sounds like a nice little bonus.
Is there any sort of guidance as to what map to start with or how the power is delivered for each type? Or is basically just a case of trying them all.

Get it fitted and get out there and try all 3 maps on zero first then +1 and maybe +2. Some of us with the 184 cant run above +1 as its a bit too mich for the car and you will end up with a flashing coil light. Dont worry bout this if you get it, just turn the box down 1, it just means you engines saying you being a bit greedy and slapping your wrists

I think I'm now settling for 2+2 although I rather enjoy 3+1. As many others have implied, there seems to be no 'right' answer; it is down to your particular car and your own feelings.

Two things I do know. Firstly, tried limp mode for one journey, simply to refresh my memory of what was - and decided that snail mode might be a better description; there is no going back!. Secondly, I have nothing but praise for Andrew and the guys at DTUK for changing an extremely good car and driving experience into something better.

Well got it fitted and first map was 1+1 not tried anything else yet. Definitely feel the difference, had a bit of hesitation once or twice though although not regularly enough to put it down to the crd3+ love it so far. Gonna try map 2 in a few days.

Quick question where's everyone putting their box? I've put mine on top of the battery under the cover?

I probably wouldn't put it on top of the battery. Mine is slotted in between the battery and the air box.

Same here also, I tried multiple locations and this is the best place I decided.

I've removed by DTUK box for now though as I go in for a service soon. It's worth noting that the box did create some soft codes (I had a diagnostic ran on the car after the system was taken out).

The first code was for the boost pressure sensor and I believe the other code was for the rail pressure sensor. This means that if you have a service/MOT, you'll want to clear these codes before taking the car in as I'm fairly sure the dealers are smart enough to know that error codes in these areas heavily point towards a tuning system.

Interesting, I wonder why it caused soft codes to be thrown?? Since I've fitted it I've been having more of the hesitation that plagues some of our leons, around 2000rpm a sudden loss of power for half a second if that, and there is some talk on another post about it potentially being linked to a faulty sensor in the engine bay (forgotten which one).

I'm running 1+1 at the minute. Switched to 2+1 for tomorrows commute!

I always remove it for any warranty work. They can't blame the codes on something they haven't seen lol

I wonder do the codes clear after a few thousand miles or do they be stored till they be cleared by computer?

I think it's because you unplug the boost sensor and it probably just disturbs it, like you said, it is just a stored error and isn't pending so is easily cleared and then once a rescan is run, no errors come up

These codes can also be triggered if the ecu is still powered up if you remove the plugs too quickly before it has time to power down

Correct. In this instance my car had been turned off for 15 minutes (approx), before the system was removed.

However, next time I put it back on or take it off, I'll run a diagnostic's before I do anything, and afterwards. So I can compare results to see if this was the cause or not (removing the system too quickly).

I've also been getting this "hesitation" when at lower RPM. Sometimes it happens when I'm just going along steadily and ever so slightly depress my right foot.

This is just an assumption, but I would highly suspect this "hesitation" causes a soft code to be thrown and is the reason I had two.

No matter the cause, if you've got the system installed on your car, I highly advise you to check for codes and clear them before taking it to your dealer (for any reason).

If you open a door or the bonnet, even if the ignition has been switched off for several hours, the engine management system wakes up (powers up) for a few minutes incase you are about to start the car, it's one step ahead!
Best thing to do is open the bonnet and leave it for 5 minutes before disconnecting anything. (Don't open anything in the meantime)
Just out of interest, what fault code has anyone seen?
