I am running p3+2 setting
cheers
Garry, 3 plus 2 is a high setting.
When we dyno'd the 2.0 150TDI MK7 Golf a couple of years ago, this was using the equivalent of your map 3 on plus 1. This was without the cam connection which from my own experience does bring the power in earlier than the CRDT (non cam connection).
Ive mentioned this several times before, and each and every car is different. Our first VRS would throw a coil light on anything above plus 1, where as customers would tell me that they were running plus 3 without any issues at all.. It certainly s car dependant and this is one of the reasons we don't suggest a "best setting" and tell customers to actually ignore what theyre read on the forums regarding settings, as it truly is a car to car to customer kind of thing.
as for the coil light coming on on plus 2, as Simon has mentioned the warmer temps can and do affect these things, this is why we advise running on plus 1 as we usually don't get any issues.
By the sounds of it the hesitation has only started to occur since you have started using 3 plus 2, so my suggestion is to start off on map 3 zero, and then move upto plus 1.
I have experienced this once in our grey 184, but that was running pedal box too and i was in 5th or 6th gear and basically "laboured the engine".. i was being lazy and thought i don't need to change gear.. I have since tried to replicate this, and I've not been able too at all
So as per my advice above, turning the box up can and may cause a number of issues including coil lights, engine management lights and this hesitation in a high gear at low revs.. But the same could be said about being a "lazy driver" as i was on that occasion
oh and I'm not sure if its been mentioned, but fuel quality can have quite a radical affect when running the box and also when comparing like to like cars, its also considering when the 2 cars were last serviced too.. If a car is due an oil/air filter change, again this can affect things too
By all means give myself a call on 01207 299538 - Andrew
I've just checked and both yourself and Havsgaard are using the same software
