thats what i did. the small piece i mean is the bronze coloured piece.that has a little connector on it. i had to plug that back in to turn the management light off.

i think your on about the N249 itself
that NEEDS to be plugged in electonically to let the ecu know its still thier (so it doesnt throw a fault), but not plumbed in with vac hosing.
From your pics it looks like its correct
Id replace that OE vac hosing tho with some 3mm or 4mm silicon hosing
They have a pretty good record for leaking, plus its hard to see where from as their covered in f**kin shoelace
I still personally think you should try and find someone local to you with VAGCOM, just guessing otherwise, im sure someone on here who is near you would help
I cant really see from the pics if its right or wrong cos of the hoses being black.As phil said theres plenty of pics now which clearly show and describe how its done properly. But for all you kno you've done it right and its something else causeing the issues
