I'm fairly sure I would get away with it and if only the oe one will work at £450 I'll probably take a chance and assuming it looks OK stick with it, but if I can get a replacement for less than £300 I'll probably just change it.

I guess the fact its my time and I'm not paying a garage should make me more likely to chance it but I'd get annoyed with myself if I took the chance and it failed only for me to take it all apart again right away LOL

hahaha I know mate you can't win

I am just going to risk it if I am honest. it hasnt started slipping yet so I can imagine the DMF should be ok?

I'm no expert on the VAG so dont follow me LOL
My experience is that heat kills a flywheel and a slipping clutch = heat.

I dont have the tell tale clunk or noise of a DMF issue.
Wouldnt want to spend the best part of £600 on a clutch for it not to last if the face on the DMF is damaged.
I really am in 2 minds. The biggest issue is stripping it all to find it needs a flywheel and then having to wait a further 2 days for the DMF to arrive. I need the car to get to work.

Like I say, think if I can find one for sensible cash I'll get it, if not then I'll chance it. (Even saying that makes me cringe!! LOL)

Mines in now getting the clutch done, hoping there won't be a call to say dmf is goosed lol

Dunc - give me a shout as I realised I may have a new OEM flywheel.

Major bad news, flywheel is badgered.

Guy says he's not sure if the luk fly will work with the Sachs clutch, any ideas?

Will do Al. Cheers :)

How have they deemed the DMF as damaged? They are supposed to have movement, just no clunk.

From what I know it was Luk who made the oe DMF?? So can't see why it wouldn't work?
After speaking to Kris, Loba and Luk are the only people who can supply them. They are very expensive and if you look into the cheaper ones offered on line they will probably be for the FR which has a cheaper DMF.

Speak to Kris, he sold you the clutch and can supply you a DMF if required.

No worries on the Hijack!! Its all good info and hope you get it sorted!!

Kris has them for £450 on his website. Not sure on availability but got to be worth giving him a shout.
Failing that I'd try darkside performance, APS and AmD before I spend main dealer money..... thats not to say the main dealer can deliver before these companies anyway!

Dropped on big time the guy at the garage can get oem fly for 330, confirmed its the same part. Will be done tomorrow dinner.

If yours is slipping mate I'd get a new one to make sure, if you can afford it.
