My exhuast is causing major issues and its winding me up!

Keep getting Bank 1 Fault. (Running Lean) Keep getting low boost 5-7psi aswell and the exhuast sounds loud!

The Exhaust after going to SEATtoday seems to be different size at the joins so they have put sleaves in?!

First join seems to go from 55mm - 60mm and the second join 57-63mm they want to cut the system apart re-weld and put on industrial exhaust clamps so it never blows or comes loose

I'm taken it friday to be done but should i have such problems?

It is indeed the precat sensor. But its not the sensor that needs replacing its the exhaust causing the problem where the joins seem to be completly different sizes.

Your gettin a bank 1 lean fault code coz of an exhaust leak? Surely it would run rich if you had a blowing downpipe? But i might be wrong.

I'm not sure but ive booked it in to be done tommorow again! Although after speaking to Forge they think I should get the rest of the system done by miltek or goto Toxic Rides.

But how can the design by 5mm out at each join? Surely thats wrong ?

well ive had bank 1 mixture selector come up on diagnostics, i was told its the 1st lambda sensor away from the engine. he wiped the faults clean then he took readings from the sensor and it was fine, he says its usually the MAF sensor on its way out and that would be causing it to not boost up correctly too!

maybe hes wrong but thats just what ive been told!?

I bought a new MAF & Lamba before the rolling road day in feb at engine advatanges so I doubt it can be that unless parts only last 3 months!

i supposidly have a lean mixture coz my secondary air pump is up the duff?

Quick update ..

I didn't take the car into SEAT i've decided i'm going directly to milltek to have the rest of the system fitted by them...

Does anyone think I can claim some compensation from supersprint? I did try to e-mail them but I got no response!

If your runnning lean with the ecu error will it pump more fuel through the engine as my tank ain't lasting as long!

After having major problems with joins supersprint emailed me and said:-

The informations you sent to us are not complete enough, for diagnosing the problem.
All we can say is, that the Supersprint cat-back system is compatible with the remaining stock exhaust components, in terms of overall shape.
This means that the SS parts should fit with any exhaust system, provided that its shape is also comparable to the stock exhaust.
We take for granted that the alignment of your current exhaust setup is correct, and that the leak comes from a difference between the diameter of the SS system and your current downpipe.
Any reputable muffler shop, with the proper equipment, must own a pipe swaging/flaring machine, which enables its crew to precisely match the slip-on joints between the individual exhaust parts.
The total amount of work involved is very small.
Our assumptions is, that the cost for putting an end top your problems is reasonable.
However, please keep in mind that this is a speculation, based upon the informations you gave to us.
If we ourselves could check the car, we could also be more precise in our extimate.
We suggets you to contact Eurostylig, the sole distributor of Supersprint for the UK, as they can assist you and help you find the right exhaust shop in your area.

Don't people buy these products and fit them thereselves without the tools needed in this email?

Sorry mate, got side tracked by work. I'm not aware that anyone else had similar problems with the Supersrint exhaust.

Supersprint don't like milltek!

Please let us know which Supersprint items you currently have fitted onto your car.
The slip-on joints MUST match perfectly, like they do on each and every Supersprint exhaust system made.
The SS center exhaust has an outlet section of 63.5mm, while the SS rear muffler has a inlet section of 63.5mm i.d. They do match perfectly.
If the SS exhaust parts you currently have are made with a bore different from the above dimensions, we suspect that you may have received and installed at least one wrong part.
Keep in mind that we do offer 2 different types of exhausts for the Ibiza Cupra 1.8t, one system uses 55mm pipes, one sysyetm uses oversize piping, 63.5mm.
Needless to say, the individual components of these 2 Supersprint systems are not compatible between each other, they are NOT interchangeable.
Like we said, we guarantee that the Supersprint exhaust parts are leak proof at their joints, however we have no idea wether they are compatible or not with other brands exhaust.
Based upon the informations we have, and accordingly to the common knowledge of the performance market, the brand of the downpipe you use is well known for building ill-fitting, poor quality exhaust systems.
The price may me low, but the product is also cheap, in every aspect.

We would not be surprised if the main source of the problem comes from there.

milltek?? poor quality exhaust system??? right, ok! their just trying to take the blame away from themselves.....

The best thing is is both of the supersprint joins which are causing me the problems! I just want milltek to contact me so I can go to there workshop get the rest of the system done and ask them to write a brief report of what was wrong with the old system. I can also take pictures while the exhaust is on the car and off to help claim some compensation. Not sure how easy that will be!

O.k my options

Drive to Derbyshire & have the Miltek Cat Back System Fitted to my Miltek Downpipe & Race Cat Cost of £380.00 Plus petrol there and back about £40!

Or Blue flame turbo Back System £466.75 But I would have to get a garage to fit cost £No idea!

I could then sell the Miltek Downpipe & Race Cat - Centre pipe & Supersprint system all seperatly.
