Should be of the top of the head by the cam-belt cover. Stand at the front of the car and it is on the front left of the head by the engine cover on my LC (mines AUQ).
I've just bought all 4 cause once one goes its only a matter of time till another one goes. Plus depending on mileage I'd do the plugs at the same time.
True. Also, make sure the last digit of the part nos is 'R' - it indicates the latest spec. For example, the early coils that gave lots of probs were 'Js', therefore, 'R' is the 7th upgrade (didn't use 'O' cos of confusion with zero), to date.

Dont get too hung up on part numbers. every genuine VAG part purchased from a dealer has a full 24 month, unlimited mileage, parts and labour warranty. We sell loads of coils (probably because we are cheapest) and no probs to date
