Engine conversion

Just bought the conversion, actually whole fron still on subframe from golf mk5 GTI. 100 miles on the clock Will come next week I'm so exited

Since you have to upgrade "major" items i would sell on.

I own a Lexus IS200 (used to be a 2005 Leon 1.9TDI Stylance) and the forum where i come from, people are swapping the IS200 engine for 2L turbo engines, but there spending 6K on doing them.
If your up for spending the money, do it. You won't get your money back.

I know someone who bought an IS200 for £6500, has spent 10K on an engine swap & other bits, and is now selling for £5500!!

Well I knew I'm gonna lose some money but that was my dream for good few years and now it's finally happening. I got all parts I need plus some more found garage that will fit it for me as well so hopefully it's just couple weeks away

Then i hope the work goes OK and all is well.

Also, save a little bit of money back, just for any "build" problems, as there are always some along the way, not matter how much planning has gone on!

We have a guy who has sent his away to be turbo charged, and he has planned everything, and still has had a slight build problem!

what box did you you get with it ? DSG ?

I hope it won't be any major problems. As I mentioned I bought whole front of the car with everything inc. supsension and stuff so I hope it will be ok but like you said there's always something. The company that will fit it for me did many conversions in the fast inc. rear based scooby engine in for fiesta so I trust them Aslo got turbo kit for the car which they'll fit as well.

Good luck with your conversion prezf If you dream it and beleive it will work then im sure it will. Can you take pictures of your build progress, from the front of the GTi all the way to completion? Will be cool to see the transformation. Are you going big turbo for your 2.0TFSI?

parts are still in the scrapyard and go directly to the mechanics on tuesday-wednesday, I'll be dropping the car of this saturday so I won't see it till it's complete as the garage is 20 miles away and that's my only car ;/ Once it's in I defo get some picture. I got precision T3/T4 turbo, it's pretty big i'll ask the garage to make some pics wile the build it so fingers crossed I'll have some anyway

how much has the mk5 gti donor set you back?

It didnt come with a k03s turbo? Or are you just putting on a bigger turbo?

I think I got it pretty cheap, I paid 2k for whole thing, it comes with turbo but I have bigger I'll put on.
