The engine management light has come on again.... :censored: :wtf: :help:

I replaced the cat about 3 months ago with one from another company as Seat couldnt get the cat for our car then about 6 weeks later the light was back and Seat did a diagnostic and it was the cat.... got a replacement from the online company and a refund as they said it was faulty and 6 weeks later- guess what, the lights back!!! Im gonna cry. It costs me £60 each time for Seat time on the car to take the cat out and put the new one in and that I dont get refunded and now I need to do it again and cant really afford to and shudnt be replacing a cat every 6 weeks! Ours is a Toledo 02 V5 170bhp model.... any suggestions?

If in doubt, check Ebay;

You just need to find a friendly mechanic... or a set of spanners...;)

Thanks hon- I did see that but we've decided to just get a genuine Seat one cos at least then I have a warrenty on it and after going thru 2 cats in 3 months and living in the highlands we use the car for long distances and I dont want to worrying about the light coming on in the middle of no-where. The car's going in this afternoon so fingers crossed for me pls guys! I shud get a refund on the old cat but I think I might need to pimp my hubby out to pay the extra!

You sure its the cat?

You want to get the EML read for yourself to see whats REALLY causing it to come on

My EML came on, then went off by itself! A friend has the diagnostics, popped it on, came back with 3 faults, CAT, lambda and airflow sensor,

The EML came back on, i cleaned all the sensors and the EML went off the very next day

Please make sure you know its the CAT because thats a lot of money to be shelling out if it isnt
