engine management light

hi im new 2 this site just wonderin if u could help? my engine manegement light came on the other day. took it too mobile sparks auto electictians in cardiff. he ran a diagnostic check on the car an one fault came up it was a secondry air flow fault? he said it was nothing major an reset it. is this a serious problem an do i need to sort very soon?

if it comes on again i would get it sorted then sounds like the maf

its nowt to do with maf

secondary air injection system warms up the cat on start up. very common, isnt serious

yeah i think the majority of people that own a cupra has this fault and i have had it for months!! i don't even know how to fix the fault!

If it was the p0411 (think thats right ?) fault code its nowt to worrie about. It will just be an intermittant fault with your secondary air pump ! Incorrect flow recorded ! Mines been playing up, its been on twice in the last 2 weeks ! lol ! Dose your car still run ok ? If so jus get the light knocked off ! Obviously if the light keeps coming back on then you have got a problem that needs looking into ? broken wire ? split vac pipe or summet ?

dont worry bud, i had to read 'secondary air flow' a few times

a maf fault would say Mass Air Flow error - signal too low/ too high

had this fault before and found a small leak from around the seem of the secondary air pump to be the cause
