EPC Light! HELP!!!!

I was driving yesterday and all of a sudden the epc light and angine management light came on. Everything was fine, not lacking speed or anything but the light makes me think summat mite not be right. ive left engine off overnight (obviously) and its still on today.

Ive got it in for a service on monday but dunno if it will wait cos i got a long drive on saturday. Does anyone have any idea wot it mite be.

Its a 1.6 16v sx leon. Only think i think mite have summat to do with it was about 5 mins before light came on i set off quick and revved quite high in 1st and 2nd.

just remembered, other think i did yesterday was use sum aircon clener form halfords. but dont htink that *** do anything!

EPC is the electronic pedal control

It's gonna be a fault in the throttle system somewhere - could be the pedal itself, the cabling or in the ECU itself

Try an ECU reset and a throttle body alignment. If you search for both terms on this forum you'll find all the info you need. You might just find it was an odd, one-off glitch that's thrown both lights.

Make sure you have your radios code before you do the ECU reset though!

hi guys, ive reset my ecu and throttle body. EPC light has gone off but engine management light is still on and now when i rev i get a 'click/clunk' noise!!!

FIXED!!!!!!!! all is now well in the leon!
got outta the car last night n id left ma lights on, as i walked round the back i saw that the left brake light and the 3rd brake light were on, and when i pressed brakes nowt changed. so i changed the bulb that dint work and everything started working! engine mgment light was still on so i plugged laptop in to do a vagcom check but as i was tryin to get laptop all set up the engine mgment light and epc light went off. and its still fine this morning!

Wait, so assuming the ECU reset sorted the EPC light, does that mean the Engine Management light was on because a brake light bulb was faulty?! And how did that sort out the 'click/clunk' noise when you revved?!?
Pedro is definately having a laugh at our expense with this one...
