Hi everyone
Just wondering if anybody knows how to replace the bumper support elements (the lh/rh threaded adjusters) and remove them from the crossmember/bumper reinforcing panel!! It's driving me mad. One has sort of snapped (they are a multi piece affair but the plastic hexagonal separator has snapped) leaving a almost flush hexagonal 'top' with a smaller hexagonal base/internally threaded base.under the bracket. I have tried unscrewing and just forcing it up (bigger part at top), levering but don't seem to be getting anywhere. As this part is only fitted to the exeo and with the exclusive numbers they were produced in I am struggling to find an answer!!! Please help :(
Ps they are different to the A4's
Cheers

You have buy a new crash bar I'm afraid they can not be bought on there own. But I'm sure if you had a welder you could make something to adjust the bumper.

Hi
Thanks for fast reply however I already have bought them- now 13 and 14 in attached diagram, so they MUST come out !!! I assumed I would just screw them in but when examined could see they were including the bits that were in the bracket!!

I have replaced these on mine they are a Rivet nut so you will need to drill the old ones out they are made from a soft alloy so are easy enough to replace you will need a Rivet nut Gun they kind of work the opposite way to a pop rivet I borrowed one from our bodyshop you screw a bolt into the threaded part then squeeze the levers together and squashes it in on the little bracket

Good to know these are available separately as one of mine snapped when I changed my headlights. I glued mine back together, greased up the threads and it's been OK since but I think it'll break again if I remove the bumper again.
