I ordered my Leon ST FR 2.0tdi 184ps DSG today, will be delivered in april, normally it was set for march but with DSG it takes a bit longer.. Can't wait for it! I'm from Belgium btw :)

Nice :) ordered the same car, what options have you gone for? Cannot wait for mine to turn up.

Finance can be done in a few hours if they fax it in to VWFS - depends what your dealer is willing to do.

I went in and signed the paperwork today, should be collecting it on Saturday. I was a little disappointed because when the car was sold to me I was told I could add an extended warranty when I signed the paperwork ans agreed to the figures. Went in their today prepared to pay nearly £500 for the warranty but they said it would have had to been done at time of order. So I feel they were trying to get out of extending the warranty.

Try and sort this out with SEAT customer service before picking up?
Nothing annoys me more than when muppets who have a pretty easy job still manage to misinform or mess up somehow, especially when it's to your detriment.

Trouble is, I've a range my insurance, dual controls and got a gap in my day to pick it up Saturday so it would be a real hassle in messing things around to delay picking it up. They assured me I could arrange a manufacturers extended warranty when the car reaches 60k miles for similar money. They say I signed the order form that didn't included the extended warranty, but at the time of ordering they said the extended warranty would have to be arranged when the car was delivered. You really can't trust anyone.

When I ordered mine the dealer was very clear that the warranty had to be placed at the time of order, not on pickup. Apparently Seat head Office forces this.

I have this mental image of two boxes of parts in the factory one with long life components for those who bought the extended warranty and the cheap stuff that's going to break after three years for everyone else!

Wow thats fast :)

Im guessing that they probably do something like 3 weeks of LHD production, then 1 week of RHD production or something like that.

I'm assuming you have ordered the car in Belguim as we haven't had that option yet.

It's due 1st of Feb, but the dealers here still haven't heard anything. I'm putting off ordering until this is available, so hopefully next week.

 yes it is an odd practice, most manufacturers of any kind give you the ability to extend the warranty at any point during the existing warranty, this at time of order malarky is just bizarre.

gaffer - not suggesting you delay the pick-up of your new motor, but kick up a bit of fuss. Don't see why you should have to pay for the dealers stupidity. If its not going to cost you anything more and you're not too fussed then fair enough :)

P.S. glad to see you stuck with the Leon and not the Fiesta!

There are two types of Warranty.one which is placed at time of order and one when you get to the end of the 3 year warranty period and before 60,000 miles is covered. My welcome to SEAT booklet has this info under Vehicle Warranty.
Here are the relevant links

http://www.seat.co.uk/content/uk/br.../warranty/extended-warranty-for-new-cars.html

http://www.seat.co.uk/content/uk/br...tance/warranty/Extended-Vehicle-Warranty.html

It really should be possible for dealers to advise correctly if we can be informed but are not dealing with this stuff every day.

You may have some leverage if you act now and get a quote on the extended warranty and it is more than the dealer quoted you on the "from new" warranty. Get them to make up the difference.

Yeah I'm glad in stuck with the leon also, once I found out I was getting it a month earlier than expected I was sure I wanted it. Thanks for all your advice, I feel I should kick up a fuss, but they have pulled out the stops to get the car ready for tomorrow with my dual controls and the person I'm now dealing with is different to when I ordered so I would feel bad giving him a hard time especially as he is helpful. It will probably cost me an extra £100 but I will pay it, in the grand scheme of things it isn't that much.

Love it! Glad I went for the FR trim, very comfortable yet very stable. All the tech is great if a bit distracting at times, the LED interior lights are well worth £60, they really give the interior a classy feel when it's dark. The SEAT sound system is plenty loud enough, doubt I will ever keep it on full volume, but still fairly clear at full volume.

Only taught one customer in it so far, he loved it and said it was much easier to drive than my old Ibiza. I agree!

Nice one gaffer, glad you've finally got it and are happy.

My last car was an Ibiza diesel like yours, although 2 litre, I found the diesel easier to drive than the 1.4TSI if I'm honest. Perhaps I'm 'doing it wrong' and should book myself in for a lesson!
