Nice one gaffer, glad you've finally got it and are happy.

My last car was an Ibiza diesel like yours, although 2 litre, I found the diesel easier to drive than the 1.4TSI if I'm honest. Perhaps I'm 'doing it wrong' and should book myself in for a lesson!

To be honest, I find the old diesel easier to drive, but the petrol behaves much more sedately at lower speed and never pulls you along in the scary fashion the diesel would if you tried to go too slow for one of the gears. So I think my learners, especially the beginners will find this car much easier.

Glad its pushing all the right buttons Gaffer, you'll need to put your prices up now :D

Happy motoring :drive1:

It certainly is, the car is worth every penny, I have already put my prices up twice in the last year so I may keep them the same for a bit, but it's all down to supply and demand. The dealer put the car on long life and it is currently showing over 19,000 miles to its next service. :)

The only possible gripe I could have with the car is the throttle response isn't 100% linear and in eco mode it can be a bit unpredictable. But first 15 miles at 60 mph eco driving achieved 33 mpg and know it has nearly 150 miles on the clock it is easily achieving 40+ mpg around town. Roll on 600 miles so I can properly open it up.

I think the long life is the factory default unless you specify time & distance and your dealer sets that up at the pdi. Never understood that as surely the T&D would be more lucrative to them with the LL triggering the service light around the 18/19k mark

There's always a gripe gaffer, would be something wrong if there wasn't :D I know one Ill have before I get it and that's having to to manually fiddle with the bonnet stay every time I'm under the hood lol. Why they dont all use a gas/hydraulic strut I dont know  tell a lie, shaving pennies. The simplicity of the bonnet strut spoils you rotten.

Still loving the car especially now I have things set up the way I want. There is another small gripe however, if you reverse up to something, the reverse sensors continue to beep even when you take it out of gear. I have to push the p button on the dash to quiet it down, shouldn't they turn off when you take it out of reverse? No trouble pressing the p button just wondered if something is not working properly.

I have to confess I didn't wait 600 miles to trying out the acceleration, I went 200 miles and figured that must be plently for a modern aluminium engine block. I have to say the 1.4 TSI is stunning, accelerates so quickly it reminds me of the old 2.0 220BHP fiat coupe I had which got to 60 in 6.3 seconds. Probably because I used to slow cars now.

Mine was built today - a Leon is born!
Just need it to get on that boat and over here for the 1st March, which I think won't happen now.

One good thing though - I was trawling the dealers website and they are offering 3yrs 0% finance rather than the PCP deal I was originally going for (and paying off in full a day or so after getting the car).

Now I can pay a monthly amount out of the savings without having to splash £12k out all at once - win!!

Maybe it's country-related, I'm from Belgium..

What does pcp or hp stand for?

hp is hire purchase (you pay off the full amount over X years and own the car), pcp is a personal contract purchase which is kind of like hiring the car. After say 3 years you either hand the car back or pay a lump sum to own it.

I signed my HP agreement last week. 0% hp over 3 years, but it needed a 50% despoit.

Ordered mine two weeks ago, got the 0%, 50% and £1,000 without asking.
Now going through that annoying wait for a build week.
