Oh hell, the facelift is gonna come out just before I want to buy a year old leon. This puts me in a very difficult position

Im in the same boat. Want to buy a leon sometime within the next year.
But the good thing is it'll push residuals down, so if they make a hash of it, then we get a nice looking leon for a better price.
If however it's as good as its beginning to sound from piecing together the things posted in this thread, then we have a very hard decision to make!
its going to look exactly the same as the old one, believe me.
cloth/trim change, the odd button, possibly wheels, and under the bonnet changes depending on the model you choose.
dont build your hopes up for anything remotely 'radical'. its not going to happen.
its the interior change that would bug me!
Although if I got a pre-facelift I would quickly sort out that slab of silvery grey!
the plastics will be the same shape, but maybe different colours.
tooling is price prohibitive for a facelift, however you still have to buy plastic to inject to make parts. the colour of the plastic (or cloth or carpet) doesnt affect price.
a replacement tool (a dashboard tool for example) would cost upwards of £200k, and is money down the plug as it can never be recouped.
buy an mfd3, it make a massive difference (although quite expensive).
Does anyone actually like the gear knob? I prefer the seat sport one seen in the Linea R by far & wide. It looks not only more tasteful but ergonomic looking too.
Yes, I do!Everyone goes on about how shite it is, butI find it fine - I have quite big hands so I think that helps!

Word is the facelift Leon should be at the Geneva motor show in early March......
Leave the outside alone and change the stereo/ heater.
The new Octavia facelift has the RCD510 so hopefully the Leon will too
