faulty rear passenger window

Hi all,
Had a quick search, but could only find stuff on front windows. Anyway problem is near side rear passenger window is stuck down. Won't operate either with drivers or door control. There is no sound from the motor.
Firstly, how can I manually close the window? Presumably I will need to remove the door card? If so, how do I do that? There aren't any obvious screws, I suspect the various bits pop out, but didn't want to break anything.
Any help much apprceciated. car is an 02-plate 115 TDI SE

2 screws behind the grap handle (phillips screws) and little yellow clips around the card. give it a good hard tug (the door card) and lift it over the lip at the top of the door, disconnect any plugs and move it out of the way then peel back the foam/sponge inner door cover(dont damage it as this prevents water leaks).
the likly hood is that the regulator has burned out so try to undo the 10mm bolts holding the window in place and secure the window in place with duck tape and a long piece of wood.

Many thanks, the window decided to work the next morning, so managed to get the window back up. Have put the lock on from the drivers door panel and leave for the time being.

sounds more like a broken wire between the door and the B post,pull back the loom sleeve and have a look before you start stripping the door.

Agree with George.George, broken wires are common place, I've got one on the N/S rear window, doesn't work, I know which wire just haven't gotten around to fixing.

get them into the tailgate with probs on rear wiper lights/hazards etc etc

Well finally got to looking to try and sort this. Have peeled back the rubber boot and found about 6 broken wires.
Any one know the best way to repair them? was going to try inline crimp connectors or would splice connectors be better?
Also does the black connector that attachs to the door pillar unscrew at all? This would make access a bit better.

am sure that the black connector does unscrew - mine had the same problem. I took photos to post here, but some how managed to lose them when I got a new mobile phone!

used a crimp connector and has been fine since.

All sorted for now. But what a horrible fiddly job to do! Couldn't get the connector unscrewed and the rubber boot makes it tricky to hold one end of the wire whilst crimping the connectors. Still the back ache was worth it as now have a functioning window and speaker.
