Nothing as yet, Mike wanted to know if it really does work first, if it does work then at least we all know it has been tested and proven to do something, rather than just a show gimmick. I'm sure Mike will cost up the production braces as soon as he can, and I expect them to be very competitive compared to other adjustable braces on the market, the big plus with this one is NO drilling!
 
None specifically for the Leon, but FK-Automotive do one for the Golf MkIV and Weichers Sport do a non-adjustable Golf one for around £45, the adjustable ones are around £90 I think. Both have to be drilled and bolted in though.
 
I suppose price always depends on market but if kept cheaper then he would definately sell more to members. Like you said though need to see results first - also on a std car because of your rear ARB and suspension setup being different.
 
Damn, if my subs werent in the way then i would consider this too... might have to readjust my ice if i want it, and of course, if it is worthwhile!

Well pointed out..... re members would buy more..... And also re stnd car Shame Rob's in Scotland otherwise I would have loaned mine as a stnd test mule... (Well Stnd ish..)
 
This maybe a stupid question, but why does a strut brace need to be adjustable. What are the advantages of an adjustable one over a non-adjustable one?
 
They are far easier to fit, a non-adjustable one is very difficult to fit as you have to jack up the car and hammer and squeeze it into place, then drill holes etc. The adjustable one can be wound in, fitted and wound back out and tightened up into place!
 
Finally ... we move forward with this bolt in rear strut brace. The prototype now fits, it bolts in and it is solid! Only minor trimming will be required of the plastic and carpet trim, now it's road testing time. I have a trackday this Saturday so that will be the acid test to find out if it does anything or not!

Two bracing bars fit behind the plate and the plate bolts into them:

The brace itself has a left and right thread, so turning it clockwise expands it at both ends, tightening it up, a locking nut holds it in place:

The plastic trim will only require a tiny indent to be made to sit properly, I was able to refit everything bar the side carpet trim, again only a small cut will be required:

Once proved it does actually work, I will receive a production version from Mike, which is longer, much better finished and polished!
