Sweet, enjoy. Let us know about the dyno results - glad to see you got rid of the tiny exhaust before you dynoed it!

Tom.

Bear in mind that there may be considerable differences between a stock UK spec VR6 and a stock Australian spec VR6... And remember that there are several variants of the VR6 in the UK anyway - originally cames as a 12v 2.8 or 2.9'sdepending in what it was fitted in. But yes, VAG figures for UK spec engines were a bit higher than that - IIRC (and it's more than possible that I don't), the 2.8 was rated at about 175bhp, the 2.9 about 190bhp.

Yup, quite right red_ibiza_vr6 - it hadn't registered that you were posting wheel horsepower...

A coastdown measurement (like we use here in the UK to calculate flywheel bhp from wheel bhp) typically suggests transmission losses IRO 30-35% so wheels bhp figures around 130-135 bhp sound about right for a 2.8 12v VR6.

Please don't let this descend into a discussion about how valid coastdown measurements are...
