Changed the standard bosch dv and fitted the bling forge 007p dv.I have done a search and been reading all morning it feels like this is all i ever do on here i know these dv are both recirculating meaning you can here the pressure being released as you boost but should the forge dv make a quiet whooshy noise when changing gear I have a seat leon cupra 180bhp standard no mods.I realise by adding an induction kit,bypass n249 valve,remap it can be achieved.but which is next to do and should the forge 007p do it a little now with out any mods.I think i have just read that much and are a little lost


I know that dv questions are asked every day on here so i will understand if some one tells me to off and i will go away with my arse spanked lol

You should be able to her quite a subtle whoosh as the DV dumps air back into the airbox. This will happen every time the car has boosted and you have backed off the throttle... the main time this happens is when changing gear.

So yes, it should make some noise. I'm pretty sure the LC is the same as the LCR in that you'll hear the noise coming from the passenger footwell area if you're listening carefully for it.

It wont ever be a loud noise though, and you'll probably not hear it from outside the car much. There are ways to increase the noise though, if that's what turns you on...

You can fit an induction kit; this will make the noise louder and throatier.
Or,
You can fit Forges new Split-R DV. This is part recirculating and part atmospheric so it dumps enough air back into the air box to satisfy the ECU and to stop the car from screwing up..... but at the same time it vents just enough outside to make the whooshy noise you're after.

I wouldnt waste your money on a splitter dunp valve as you already have a upgraded 007.
I would recommed if its noise your after a open type aftermarket filter and this should satisfy your noise requirement.

ive got forge 007pa dv and viper cross airfilter! but hardly could hear it! unless i turn down music to almost off!

so what you saying is with the forge 007p it does both you can here it when boosting sounds like a constent whoosh and also when changing gear,because all i hear is the same as the bosch nothing there when clutch goes down.Is this normal any ideas if there is no noise.

You should be able to hear the turbo sucking up air and you should hear a little whoosh as the DV dumps the air back into the air box.

i am positive that i can not here the air being dumped maybe i am going deaf,does it get louder as it is new.Or am i worrying about nothing.

higgsy if you want some noise purchase a ramair maxflow to go with your dv. Mine scares old people at the bus stop when I drive past! You can buy mine in a few weeks when I revert to my smoothed airbox,

why you selling it is it that loud,i aint after the noise i just wanted to know weither with the forge 007 on a standard car it would dump at the gear change.

No I bought the ramair as a temporary fix so I could remove my airbox, smooth it and add a cold air feed. To be able to smooth my box I needed to fit something in the empty hole

The ramair popped up on ebay at a bargain price so thought I would give it a try. Previous posts on airflow from smoothed airbox show improvements but ramair also shows good airflow and the noise is great. I'm in the city centre.

higgsy, it really isn't a loud noise mate. My LCR is only audible with the stereo turned off and at lower speeds and the LCR will be dumping more air than the LC. Anything above 40mph and I can't hear it either.

It's not supposed to be a loud noise and the Forge 007P isn't supposed to make it any louder, so don't worry if you can't hear it, you're not really meant to.

Follow the tips above if you really want to hear it though, but just remember it's not an atmospheric DV so it will never be as loud as cars that do vent to the atmosphere.

Thanks i think i get it now. With your green panel filter have you smoothed the air box out and if yes what do you think have you noticed any gains.

Not yet, although I'll be buying a spare air box to do exactly that with in the near future. Not noticed much improvement with the filter alone though, but then I did get it fitted at the same time as a new MAF as I was having trouble, so it's hard to judge.

Rob how much you pay for your MAF and did you exchange your old one?

It was exchanged under warranty so I didn't pay anything for it. It is an exchange unit though as they are easier to get hold of, just as reliable, but cheaper.
