Me and my mate just finsihed fitting my TIP. I started it up to take it off the ramps and found that my Traction Control light was on permantley. I have tried to reset it by disconnecting the battery which worked for about 30 seconds then it came back on again. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be or has anyone had this problem ?

when the MAF is unpuged n you then swith on the ignition with it unpluged or the engine runing with it unpluged the engine light & tcs light will come on ...plug it back in n the engine light go out but tcs light stays on

they only way to sort that is to erase the fault code with vag com or take it somewere that can plug it in to there diagnosics com n do it for you

hope that helps

i didnt unplug the maf, i simply removed the housing which its situated in and put in to the side why i worked on the intake pipe. i did put in onto the ignition but the maf was never unplugged from the housing. Therefor i cant see why it would come on.

did you twat it on anything because vibrations can muller the maf well easy on had 3 mafs on my yellow cupra because of these type of problem........

p.s where you from i see cambs but where about........i may know you or seen you about?

Any ideas what else could cause it be? I think im going the strip the plug down and have a look at the wire connections cos i mite of stretched one of the wires when i moved it to the side. Does anyone think the maf might of gone?

Ok.. Well im fitting a miltek down pipe and race cat to my car next weekend and then taking it to jabbasport to have a custom map done as it has never been mapped. Do you know if they would be able to check the problem out?

Ok thats fine then. Will it effect the mapping or should it be fine? I took the car out and there in no boost loss, so i assume it should be ok for the custom map.

Dont bother gettin your car mapped if the CEL is on.

Get it looked at, but i'd say you stuffed your maf when you fitted the TIP, probably by knocking it.
