Hi all. Just picked my wife up an altea (now have his and hers) and the spring snapped the other night!
So I thought it would be a good time to lower it slightly 
Ordered a set of Apex springs (Always used Eibach Pro Kit on other cars), but money is a little tight with the 2 nippers
So set about removing the front struts, and what a pain in the
I'm sure I have never had this much trouble before! Managed to get the drivers side one done (with the snapped spring) and all back together!
But really struggling with the N/S! I can't get the strut out?!?! It's almost like it's 6" too long?! Ive got everything off OK, hub tool in place and can slide the strut up and down I just can't get enough compression on the spring to remove it!
So... does anyone know the best way to do it? Do you have to remove the hub from the wishbone and disconnect the driveshaft etc?!
