I would say M10 x 25 and nyloc nuts, dont forget some washers too
I used M10 x 35 to make sure it sat far enough into the nylon on nut then trimmed to suit

The greatest forces on the bolts will not be tension but shear
Some BZP should be fine, been on mine over a year and still shiny

Nuts are nylocs and washers are flat, if capheads are M10 then sorted as long as they are zinc plated or similar

Ronin - indeed the cap heads are M10.

The nuts are weird.....because i tried using my hands to screw them on to the cap heads and they only go on to the plastic bit???? :L

You've posted photos of nyloc nuts which are essentially one-way/one-use nuts...

You can also happily use standard nuts, torqued correctly.

excellent! Oh well they are the right kit anyway, pick up the strutty tomorrow from audi - £67 inc vat! ouch!

Will get it fitted in the next month or so at Mid VW!

Quick question - Split R - Does it need to be set up as 100% atmospheric?

Even correctly torqued full nuts can vibrate lose, fine threads are worse for this than coarse ones
Have seen it happen many times on reciprocating machinary and deburrers, many down to the magnitude of the vibration
Even had an instance where 2 lock nuts came loose on a barrel deburrer done up by a very strong bloke too

But the nut part is on top in engine bay (is on my mates S3 anyway)
But the biggest strain is shear so if nuts loosen on top they wont drop off and still give a high strengthening effect, and the bolt part seems more of piercing screw
