Ok checked the service history to which I have quite a bit and cant see anything about a water pump. Spoke to previous owner and also he was the one who did cam belt etc last year and he said he hadn't changed the pump.

So it's looking pretty strong this is the problem tbh. Anyone have an idea where I can get one from, or price differences on the metal type one over the plastic?

Ok... problem solved. Was the water pump, it feel into pieces when the mechanic removed it!

Also I'm so happy (yes... happy) that this happened, because last year when the "cam belt was done" said the previous owner....

Firstly they didnt fit the cover properly which caused a hole to rub in it which could of been dangerous if something went in there. Also they didnt actually fit the bloody cam belt right and it was ready to snap due to rubbing on something and wearing badly!!! they didnt change the waterpump, obviously.... the tensioner was worn and the roller bearing was screwed along with a cracked and tatty V belt.

Very happy I have piece of mind that its been done PROPERLY now by someone that knows what there doing. Tempertures are back to normal again and I have a well maintained cupra now!
