looking at the Coldside kit, the reaction time of the dv with that extra vac piping will cause it to be slightly lazy,

ive never understood this mod, it has next to no benefit guys, yes its putting slightly cooler air pre turbo in conparison to the standard setup of hotside,

the main reason the dv pipe is only 10-12 inches from the compressor is to drop the boost nearest to the turbo, stopping more of the chance of compressor surge when dropping the throttle and reaction time for the vac, ,

its all past through a stonking red hot turbo then intercooler so ide very much doubt you'll see a drop in intake temp id like to see some temp logs :),

id stick 100 quid towards a better intercooler setup instead and put it back to standard :)

I took it all apart again and put it back together:

Still making the flutter/chatter sound (LOUD!)

Tests:

I removed the air filter, still made the sound
I removed the pipe going in to TIP, still made that sound

Performance is not affect, slight lag at low revs compared to before but holds boost @ 1 bar

I know I have random boost leaks (under inlet) but I will be attending them some other day

Agreed. Pointless!!

Could it be because I'm using a YELLOW spring on a Stage 1 map? not enough boost to open/close DV with the extended pipe?

I'll take it apart tommorow and put it back to standard, see if that makes a difference.

That is the question. Put it back to standard and see if it makes any difference. Maybe the tube going from tip to dump valve is amplifying noise you couldn't hear before?
