Well if you were running ihi on std smic why would i need a fmic on ko3s????

im surprised you'd even want to bud, did you not suffer any heatsoak this summer? i felt it when i was standard! this summer with revo just was depressing when the the car felt the heat, just felt like there was a problem. but then going out in the early hours and it would be fantastic again

with a k03s its just gonna be worse

I couldnt break 15s on the 1/4 mile at inters this summer, at santa pod in a fortnight, im hoping for almost a second improvement

Both CustardCupra and Madmile ran PACE Charge Coolers untill the pumps failed, Jools (CustardCupra) then had Jabba make a huge intercooler round his instructions of as big as you can make it, hack away at anything. Aircon, foglights and the crash bar (well 98% of it) were all ditched.

As far as I'm aware Gary (Madmile) also has this intercooler too, however I'm lead to belive that Jabba/Pro-Alloy produced two types, one like Jool's & Garys and the one on the website which still requires some cutting just not as much.

Nope, both run Jabba/Pro-Alloy ones, I know for Jool's intercooler aircon and the crash bar had to be ditched to make it fit, and knowing Gary he wouldn't settle for second best he'd have had the same one fitted too.

I know of a few GT2X lads running Forge IC's ones Matt and he said with Aquamist it seems to cope fine, the other lad was a bit clueless when I asked him about it, seemed he'd just handed £££ over to Star Performance and dodn't know the car too well.

I run a Forge FMIC with my GT2X, I did some logs ages ago and never saw anything above 33 degrees C. Inlet manifold is always cool to touch after a thrash but Evo gasket helps too.

When i check after giving it stick the inlet side of FMIC is fairly warm and outlet very cold. Works well for me. Haven't logged it with spray, waiting for proper spray bar too arrive.

Forge Advantages:

Price around 600
Easy fitting with no cutting
Works Well
Looks Good

I looked into AM FMIC but they were unsure if they were going to produce anymore, so that put me off as i would hav had that kit there and then.

JABBA looks good but i would never spend that kinda money on a intercooler no matter how good it was.

Charge coolers work well untill they get heat soaked, then it takes ages to recover and cool down.

In my opinion the Forge is the best all rounder but if your going for crazy power then large core AM like Bill's is the one too hav if you can get one.

Just my 2 pence worth.

What were the outside temperatures like on the day you logged? I logged a full 20 mins driving on the boil and the highest I saw was 51 degrees flat out for the fourth time in the run, didn't top 40 through most the gears and the temps went from 51 degrees to 27 degrees as soon as you came off boost.

what in the best intercooler

laguna or frontera ????

temperature admission etc ..

bye

laguna has proved with logs it works and keeps temps down

not seen any for frontera yet but their are a few peeps running them

didnt only one person ever do the frontera intercooler?

never gonna get a straight answer because one...no-one will admit one is better than the other and two there has been no side by side testing done to even remotely have any idea

Do you Have, a graph or Log for FMIC laguna temp or Fmic Frontera temp?

their are loads of logs on here for the laguna install, do a search mate, its all been covered dozens of times

as for logs of frontera, theirs 2 people i know of you can ask, smoky??? & cuprakit ??? something like that anyway (sorry guys, forget their names)

had a little look in the only thread about the frontera cooler, there are a few people with it but there are no graphs or logs, which makes me wonder why they took the plunge without any proof that it really works other than people saying "i can feel the difference" :roflmao:

still it dont look too bad, but still bodged work in my opinion

I'll hopefully meet up with acidstrato to do some logs of my Frontera FMIC, as i dont have vagcom yet.

Acidstrato is right, there are no graphs or logs of this yet, but straight after fitting mine and taken it for a long drive to check out lag and how it drove, there was a BIG improvement over the SMIC, Lets just say it will hold boost alot longer and the torque now is so much better, even more so in this weather and no extra lag.
Plus i havent Cut anything metal! other than trim my bumper to fit it.

Im sure once there are logs of it, it will then turn into a Laguna Vs Frontera VS Forge.

But im happy with it.

(Just got some more goodies to fit : Ko3s, Blueflame Sports cat and Forge tip so even more power to come)
