Just a thought, but if you managed to get a lower grill (bit under the bumper) on the cheap could you "cut it up" to get the extra honeycomb you need to fill the space at the top, you would have some left to do more if required. May not be cost effective or physically possible, just a suggestion. Looks good though, I prefer the honeycomb to the slats.
Well skidder i did actually think the same thought and ordered a lower grille, when it arrived i thought great and just as i started to cut it up, i thought hang on...??
The grille on the lower half of the car is alot larger than the above, and if i was to fit it inbetween the two side honey comb parts, it would stand out IMHO badly...
Also the other thing i noticed is all the grille have a curved to them and teh honeycomb is angled to be straight when mouted, so if i was to use it on the grill above i would have to flip the girl around to make it match the CURVE in the centre grille, again another head ache, so this is when i thought use the side grillss themselves... then the honeycomb is identical the curve in the in centre is identical... the only thing i didnt for see was the piece was short by 15mm.... and to add on another piece, was just to much of a head ache. so i came to this idea of a plastic cover...
Also thanks for everyones comments, glad people like it.. as alot of people have said teh S does look better in it... but then to also mould in the "S" into the honeycomb would be even more of a head ache and also would be missing the 15mm in the top half even if i retro fit the "S"...
AS above i have my OEM version now, and going to use my OEM slats to convert it to a badgeless or badged grill with slats.. if any ones intrested?
What do most people want the slats in the right direction WITH or WITHOUT the "S"???
