Good mod, I was going to do mine on the back but got mine painted in the end. I have vinyled my front though
If you're going for a cupra/fr look i'd go matt black, gloss black looks great too (although i'm biased haha) you can get it from ebay buddy, £5 a metre i think it is. It's easy to cut and fit if you're steady with your hands, it's like a big sticker

The recess behind the plate on my FR is grey. Personally if I was going to vinyl mine I would go for a bright colour... Green, red, yellow or something 
Put some water with a tiny bit of fairy liquid onto the section you are putting the vinyl - it'll let you move/position it better and smooth any bubbles out.

Ace, I will try that. I'd be worried tho that the fairy liquid would mean the vinyl won't stick properly but I guess it does then?
Well that's how they used to fit window tints - very little fairy liquid, not soapy, just enough to keep it lubricated long enough to move the vinyl if needed. Squeegee the excss liquid out and it should dry on no bother.

ye the water works a treat! doesn't even need to be soapy, its the best way to do any big stickers, there's nothing worse that stretching a sticker trying to peel it back and going for a second go. with the spay of water on first it allows you to slide the sticker about and get it right first time, then dead easy to squeegee the water out after
Hi mate dont for get the lower lip aswel when i first did mine i used satin black vinyl then i used satin black paint.If you go to any shop that do signs they might give you some of cuts if your finding it hard il fit it for you if you need me to

hi adam, im based in chellaston will be buying some vinyl this week off the bay and getting an LCR splitter at the weekend too.

Hi, fitted the Matt black vinyl on the front bumper today, also wrapped the s logo on the front too. I tried the washing up fluid approach which did make it rly easy to slide around but lost some of the vinyls stick on the bottom lip. Think I will redo the bottom lip but will c how I like it for a week or so first. Will post some photos when I know how!

As mentioned do the lip at the bottom too, like in Adam's signature piccy!
Have fun, take your time and put some material or a cloth over your credit card/plastic when smoothing the vinyl to stop it scratching it horribly.
