Hey, I am fairly new to these forums and have recently (yesterday) purchased an FR, very very happy with it!!

Curious about what tuning options I have available to me to give it even more pull (I am already thrilled with the cars' speed).
I know a lot of people have cars remapped and I am considering this to be done around Christmas time.. Anything else I could look into? Links welcome!!:D

A remap is by far the best bang for your bucks. I used to have an Ibiza FR 150 and it was a brill car with good power, good MPG and good toys. For me the ride was too harsh but now I have the Leon FR.

I think a remap will make the brakes seem a bit pants as they only just do the job with stock power. Thats easy to sort with an Audi TT upgrade for about £200. do a search and all will become clear.

It just comes down to how deep your pockets are mate :)

Mods range from just a stage 1 map to stage 2 (FMIC, TB exhaust, Forge TIP & 007p DV and open cone filter/high flow panel filter), then you have a full blown big turbo conversion :D

Habe a look through my thread for some ideas (link in sig bellow).

As I am new to this, I may need a few things explained... Sorry

Front mounted intercooler FMIC

turbo back TB

turbo intake pipe TIP

dump or diverter valve DV

Don't worry, it took me ages to understand this stuff too, it's all a bit American I think.

what sort of other things would you need ive got a fr150 and so far i have a front mount, full exhaust, dv, intake pipe.. i want to get a remap next but i want to sort out the handling before i do that.. ive got a front strut brace, arb, and some front rear wish bone bushes.. im thinking next is some coilleys then rear arb then some better breaks maybe while thats going on get some better bushes for other parts of the car then remap..
what are you opinions on this??
i did think about getting it remapped a little wile ago but thought whats the point of paying for 2 maps..

You've got all the hardware for a stage 2 map so thats what I would do.

Handling wise. I have a Seat Sport front strut brace, Whiteline rear ARB, 20mm rear spacers and V-Maxx coilivers. It handles realy well now :)

As for brakes, your best bet it to upgrade yours to the Audi TT 312mm setup.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the best manufacturers?/fitters? Want to do this right and not half hearted!
What should I go for first? TIP? Remap? Dump Valve? Can I fit the pipe or valve myself?

Sorry for the questions!

Dom.

I am from Colchester, Essex, I could afford the DV on forgemotorsport this month, I could pretty much afford to get somethig new every 4-6 weeks I think..

What performance advantanges would I get from each product?

No actual performance gain to be had from a DV, but it will eliminate the standard plastic one that is known to fail once you start to increase boost.

You will gain a few bhp from a full exhaust system but you will need to get it mapped to get the full potential from any mods.

You have a good tuner very close to you, AMD Essex. They are a site sponsor, check out there section http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=160

thanks mate.. ive got a forge strut brace and a H&R front ant role bar, 20mm spacers on the rear.. was looking at getting the Whitline rear ARB then looking at getting weitec coilleys soon.. Then i will get the brakes then go for a remap.. thinking of custom code buts its along way a way from me..

thanks for he help..;);)

Super, thank you!

Does it matter in what order I get these upgrades? For example, if I were to change the exhaust, TIP etc, THEN get the remap.. Would that show better gains than getting the remap prior to the other parts? If that makes sence??

Ok mate, super, where should I look for the new exhaust? Anywhere in paticular? I see AMD do one for £700 fitted, is this a typical kind of price range? Seems a bit high, but if so, will just have to save for it I guess.. Would it be best to get the full exhaust kit of AMD, or they have a sports cat back.. And a silicone intake hose...

Seems like most of what you listed above, AMD will stock and fit. Would I be best off just putting there products into the car? As they do the PiperCross panel filter too...

Awsome GTI do a good price on them but the going rate is circa £700 for a Miltek system.

Loads of places do them mate. Have a search on google or on hear.

Do I need the full exhaust system? Or just the cat back? Trying to write a list out of what I need

Its the down pipe and race/high flow cat that gives the performance, not the cat back. You will benifit more by havin gthe full system mate.

Ok, so, AMD do the highflow sports cat (downpipe and hi-flow sports cat) Is this what you would suggest? Its a very reasonable £367..

Can I fit products such as the air filter panel, dump valve and silicone intake pipe myself?

Also, what is the FMIC you described earlier in the thread?
