thanks mate i spent so long trying to find a nice set of alloys then these popped up..i want a set of (i think) standard starfish alloys of a leon so i can take these off for the winter..

Thanks for all your help guys, will get that open cone filter.. Which one am I meant to be looking for? I have seen the sub-menu 'cone filters'. What neck size am I looking for??

Thanks mate http://www.jetex.co.uk/website/conicalfilters.php?insided=70mm

The top one of this list?

Also, I am looking to forge for either the closed loop diverter valve or the splitter valve.. which one would you suggest? I am thinking of getting the valve, a silicone intake hose, the cone filter, then possiby going for a remap around february time before finishing with a FMIC and sports exhaust around May..

Do I not need a complete new induction kit? What would be the benfits of having a kit?

Bump.. Splitter valve any good? if I get the Splitter from forge and a new cone filter, would this be enough for a stage 1 remap? Or would the remap fry my car? Would the standard FR exhaust and intercooler be able to cope with the increased boost??

Go for the 007p valve mate. You dont need any mods for a stage 1 map realy.

But if you are planning on getting a FMIC and turbo back exhaust soon then I would wait till you have them fitted first before getting it mapped. Then you could go strait for a stage 2 map and save on paying for 2 maps.

Thanks Damo! Its so annoying, I want it all now, all at once! But finances dictate otherwise!! I may well just get the dump valve and map now, then get the rest in the new year! Its the fitting of the mods that I least look forward to...

I know what you mean mate. It took me about a year to get to full stage 2.

I had stage 1 map (no other mods), then got a high flow panel filter and 007p, then open cone filter and stage 2 map for standard exhaust, then full Miltek turbo back exhaust and a map tweek.

Ok so I need a panel filter AND open cone? Two different points of the engin I take it? (sorry, still learning about whats under the bonnet...) Will be getting the valve, cone filter and the remap next month I think..

No mate. You can only have one air filter. Either a high flow panel filter in the original air box or a open cone filter that replaces the whole air box.

I had a high flow panel filter first then replaced it with a open cone filter.

This is how my engine bay looks with the open cone filter on

Nice engine mate! What does the 007p sound like? Do you get that loud flutter sound?

When a 007p is used with a open cone filter it is nearly as loud as a Split R, but without all the troubles that come with the Split R.

Have a search for split R on here to see the problems lots of people have had with them. Its enough to put me off them, especialy when the 007p can sound so good and be so relible :)

A few. Bailey DV30 which is the same style as the 007p. I used to have one but had problems with it (the poston was sticking once it got hot). There's another two makes iirc but cant think of them at the mo.

Cheers mate, so there is some noise from the 007p? Obviously a bit more of a sound than the standard ibiza equipment?
