Yes, you dont care what figures it has, or how fast it is 0-60 thats why you have them plasted on the bottom of every post

No, just to show folk that their post-remap figures are not as much of an improvement as the tuners would have them believe....plus the 'dyno lottery' and all.
I think most of us realise that with most VAG TDI engines, you get more bang for your buck than you realise anyway. A bit of lightening & handling work would be more worthwhile than an extra 20 or so bhp / ft-lb and the increased chance of shagging your clutch IMHO.
Anyway, you pays you money & takes your chances....

Quite impressed with the FR's 20VT engine. A nice smooth wave of torque when the turbo winds up and then at about 5000 rpm, I feel another slight surge which is nice! First gear feels absolutely rapid. It obviously sounds much better than the PD engines when revving to the red line. Disappointed its not a 6 speed but 70mph+ is achievable in 2nd - the VXR only just got to 60mph!
I thought it would be a massive step down in performance over the Astra but not as big as I thought.
Just a shame the rest of the car is a bit of a let down.

Astra handles better, better interior, less rattles and sounds better. Bet his major disapointment with the beeza is the handling though.
Just about everything, except the Ibiza's slightly better fuel consumption and... its smaller so I can it up the drive easier. But you can't really compare the Ibiza FR to an Astra VXR! However I am really disappointed with the overall car to be honest
The build quality is shocking, even the Skoda Fabia was no doubt a more solid car and more enjoyable to be in. Ive just done a 300 mile trip in the Ibiza and didn't enjoy it at all, like I said the engine is brilliant its just the feel of the steering (vibrations), suspension (knocking at the front and back over bumps) and all of the rattles that ruin the car. Its also noisy as hell at 70mph (tyre change could possibly solve this), the car tram-lined so often on the motorway and I found myself trying to miss the cat eyes when pulling out to overtake, so that I wouldn't get the loud THUD vibrating the whole car!Anyway, back on topic a bit - theres plenty of pull in 5th on the motorway, feels quicker than the standard PD130 in my opinion! I'd have thought the TDI would be better at these speeds, in gear but like I said the 20VT really pulls from 70mph.
Good question! I've got a DAS booked this week, so all being well i'll be getting a bike. Buying and running a sports bike and running a VXR would have been expensive and although I probably could have afforded both, I decided I didn't want to be spending that much on motors. Been looking at CBR600s actually
I'm thinking about chopping the CBR6 in for something else as well....

i've got the petrol FR and i love it everytime u put your foot down it pull u in your seat no matter what gear your in, you dont even have to think about space for overtaking 0-60 is quite quick but 60-100 is frightenly quick

I said i've been looking at CBR600Fs, amongst other types of bike. Not decided what im going to buy yet although the new CB600FA Hornet seems the way forward at the moment... cheaper insurance and 0% finance.

as regards to the vxr i raced one of the new nurburg astra vxr and up to 90 or so i pulled around 3 car lengths and they are 250bhp and for the price tag and cost of tax n insurance compared to mina and the modding costs of mine its hands down %100 with my beeza, where as fo te road bikes soooooo much fun!
