Gauge Set up....

Hey All...

Right looking at getting this gauge....

(Can you get them without the VAC side? What does the VAC info tell me? In simple terms... )

With this pod as I cant afford nomad..

as far as im aware autometer always have VAC., VAC is vaccum, when your not on boost its usually in VAC area, anythign about 0 is turbo boost, so if i was idling id be about 15 VAC, a blip of the throttle in neutral would make it rise to about -10, and once moving youll be in +

P.s deffo get the -30 to + 30 guage, as once remapped 20 is on the limit so you wont see overboost etc.

p.s I regret spemnding 70 quid on the POD, as its build quality is shite, and it doesnt fit properly, if id had seen one like that id had got one and sprayed it!

i think that you should get the nomad piller otherwise it'll look a bit odd

OK so checked on APEX site, not much difference between Phantom and Ultralite? £1 in price and weight, (which I cant see being much anyway?)

flash why would you spray it? black goes with the cockpit colour? Suppose I could spray it to match A pillar??...

PS Car is REVO'd and max boost is about 19 PSI when it was RR'd last.

That little pod looks just the part, I might consider getting one now! The nomad holders look good being all moulded in, yet are a little pricy

The little pod looks ace, £75 for the pod and guage is wicked, how much are you looking at to get it fitted?

PS HoocH I didn't realise you'd gone nuts with your mods...how long you had the car now? Saw you the other day in dunstable too but was in CTR so didn't beep. lol

Yes but wondered if you fed from sidelights, or from dash lights?

I dunno, maybe some people only have the backlight coming on when the sidelights are on.....but fair enuff!

you want it lit when the dashboard is lit..... so just hook it onto that.

Don't connect it to the sidelight loom

All this talk of boost gauges has just got me to buy one! Brought a Auto gauge phantom one from ebay coming all the way from hong kong. Just need a suitable pod to house it in now, might go for the one mention earlier in this thread unless can get a nomad pillar at a decent price or anyone has a used one etc going spare (put a thread in the wanted section now)

You should still beep, i will always beep back even if i dont know you (i love getting cupra noodle horn)

i took a feed from the illumination wire goin to the headunit! alot easier! and the ignition live from headunit!
