should be a good day lads. but i urge you NOT to have a run in the ED30 for 2 reasons

1.~ you WILL want one guarenteed
2.~ you WILL need an extra pair of y fronts with you

That's why I am avoiding you 'deen boys and Hurdy from now on
Don't think my finances could take that kind of pounding anymore.....
Alex

any thoughts on the forge actuator and the the vf throttle pipe? will these parts help increase the power?

What time sre you all getting to Stattlers for then? Been meaning to bob over there for a looksie. Don't suppose they can do MOT's too can they.

not sure what time i will be there yet, got to confirm what time i will be there at. i am going to speak to them today/tomorrow to try and get a time organised. not sure they can do MOT's but you should give them a call.

@2crazy, i know hurdy has the actuator on his can and found it a good mod, but again it is only useful if you have a map that can be tweaked via a laptop i.e. APR / Revo, i have giac so it would not do me any good anless GIAC bring out another map to suit.

Cheers Owen, I'll give them a call re MOT's.

Regarding adjustability of map's, APR isn't adjustable. VTUNE doesn't work on the 2.0 TFSI. Unfortunately.

Can I ask something controversial???

When I first got my S3, a couple of the forum members on ASN were banging on and on about the GIAC hammer map being the 'MapDaddy'. But then all went very quiet after some of the quoted headline figures didn't seem to stand up in the real world, and for a short while people seemed to change their tune and Revo Stage 2+ became the flavour of choice for a while.

What is so different this time round to make this evolution of GIAC map so much better than the hammer, and likely to deliver 380bhp?

Does anyone know the out and out limits of this version of the K04 we run in BHP terms?

well i cant give you a guarenteed answer to your question, all i know is that some poeple were in discussions with GIAC USA to see if they could give a map that was going push the standard KO4 and engine near to its boundries and this is what GIAC have come back with... This is why i would not recommend it to most people. I am at the stage that if something fails on my car i will just get it upgraded...

My point of view is that it is not much faster than a stage 2+ revo car and it is impossible to tell without a side by side race or rolling road one after another. I still love the tunability of the revo system but love that ability of on the fly map choices.

I have only ever giving my opinion and think that there is never going to be that much differance between the top mapping companies. Until the next rolling road day we will never know

We will know soon enough what difference there is with Revo S2+ and GIAC Extreme Plus too as Owen and I will be doing some tests with any luck ;)

BTW, for what its worth, I agree about the figures thing for GIAC. I saw a r/r print off of Hurdys car and another Ed30 with this new file, and the plots and numbers were near identical.

thanks again owen much appreciated. ill do some more research an hear what the the local tuners have to say. my choices would be between gaic, unitonic and revo as they all seem to be fairly matched.....

Anyone confirmed there,s time and space to run at RS Tuning on Saturday? - if there is i might try and get the day off work and come down to Leeds

Owens car wont be ready by saturday so this might be delayed some what until maybe next weekend. Looking on the bright side gives us time to prepare :D.
