Hey guys, | Ive got a Seat Leon FR : 56 Plate |

Any idea's on this one? I was driving on the M62, around 80 mph (as you do :( )
On the dash, the Glow plug light started flashing, then lost car power?

slowly it died down, I pulled over onto hard shoulder, switched off the engine and on again, everything fired up fine? drove home perfectly....!

Any idea's peepz?

Glow plugs on way out?
or something else?

Thanks all!

Something potentially sucked onto the MAF perhaps? And when you turned it off, it fell under the grate of the airbox? Might sound a little long winded but I have found leafs and dead flies in there before

My money's on a DPF sensor problem or just the DPF going into auto regen mode. Does tickover at 1000rpm ring any bells?

Read the DPF booklet, this covers what the lights mean.

Mine has done this 4 times...3 times I just switched off the engine, started up again and it was fine. And the other time it came straight back on after a few restarts and it was a faulty EGP sensor on the DPF.

Thanks for the reply everyone, Well ive had AA out and they said, they can not find anything on the Comp Check, also there dash light is not solid, it goes off.

Seat said, if there is no fault code, they cant fix anything, and they will have to charge me £69 for comp check - so no point getting them to check the fault code as there are no codes stored.

Problem now is, Seat wont change a sensor on the warranty based on " I think " it needs a sensor changing, Im really stuck with this one!! its annoying!

At least of the fault was on the dash, then they would change it!

I dont fancy a battle of the sensors with SEAT !

Mines done this once. Gone into regen and it was the dpf sensor failed.
FAST AL : Did the fault show on the comp check? as AA have been out, and they said they cant see no fault code recorded, also problem is SEAT said, I can take it to them, but if no fault code is found, then they will charge me £69 for checking it, as on the warranty the Comp check is not included, unless a fault is found then they add the costs to the repair of the fault etc... !!

SEAT HAND BOOK:

Warning Lamp Flashes

If a fault develops in the engine management system while you are driving, the glow plug lamp will flash. Take the vehicle to an Authorised Service Center as soon as possible and have the engine checked.

:wtf:

And in return the Dealer says, "well if I cant find a fault I'll have to charge you, what to do, just keep driving it about until the fault light stays on the dash"

What a joke!!! AAAGGGHHHH !!! Dont know what to do!!!

The aa comp check is not the same as vagcom necessarily.Mine showed up on the main dealers software.
Willing to put money on it being a sensor fault or clogging up dpf.Maybe going into regen and car just needs to be thrashed now and then.
If the cars fine now then no probs.

Yes the car is fine now, it only happened twice, after that, its not happen?
anyways, you think its worth taking it to dealer to check. They said they are going to charge me £47 to check it out..

I dont fancy paying that to be honest [:@] they should do it for free! The only way they dealer will do it for free is, if they find the fault and can change something on the warranty, then the comp check will also be included into the repair.
