GM8's black mk2 gti project

well not so much of a 'project' like some on here , but a little progress thread for now .

originally picked up for £300 , it was a bit well chavy lol

Since i have had it ive had to do a lot of mechanical and cosmetic work , but have done most of it myself .

rear arches were pretty pad , done my best with them

painted the rear calipers too

Ronals have been refurbed , sits on coilovers and just fitted my 280mm front setup , including black diamond predator pads and grooved discs

some rust at the rear end too got rid of the rear wiper also

has front and rear braces , new gearbox/clutch/driveshafts etc
Just recently got rid of the crappy induction kit and put good airbox with decent panel filter and cold air feed

interior was mostly painted silver , pretty tacky . got it just how I want it now

Still needs a good wash/polish again , and I need to source a lower front grill , but im pretty happy with it . what ya think ?

I nearly did the whole chav thing on my car . When I first got it I was so close to doing it after reading max power etc. But Im glad I didnt now. Smooth/subtle or OEM is definetely the way to go!!

Chav just spoils the ibiza in my opinion.

Haha, i'd love to. Not sure mum and dad would be happy me having two cars on the drive though. White is definately my favorite colour.

yeah me too , its in decent nick , and mechanically , i have a receipt for a new 1500quid gearbox/clutch as well as loads of history lol
i like the colour a lot .

Haha! I wish i could, i was looking at selling mine when i white 16v came up for sale.

I'd be tempted to keep both if i were you. Have one as a weekend car and one weekday, or build a track beast with one of them!

If I had the money and hadnt just spent £400+ on mine I would have gladly taken the white one of your hands. Only about 2 and a half/3 hours away and it would have been a really fun drive home.

hmmm , took the black one a good drive today , and i really prefer driving the white one . lowered on coilies looks great but so damn bumpy and i had to put 2 passengers in the back yesterday and it was a bit dodgy , im now having mixed feelings about the black one , but realise that its pretty much worthless

Yep I agree. Thats what I would do. Keep the white one as your daily driver and turn the black one into a track car or something. Would be a shame to do that to the white one as its had the gearbox and clutch done.
