Have you ever tried removing the front pipe heat shield??

......on an 8 valve gti?? What a pig of a job!! With no oxycetaline, i had a go at knocking the cover off the front pipe on my cordoba gti this afternoon. 3 hours and a shed load of cuts and bruises later, i finally dragged it free! It was really beginning to rattle and vibrate while driving so i was determined to get it off. The local garage didn't want to know, so i set to it myself. Next job is to find a decat for it, so could anyone tell me if it would be the same as on a golf gti mk3?

I Just let mine do it's rattley thing - think they were all designed to do that!

although the exhaust is starting to knock now

I think I just bashed mine with a hammer.

i sheared the 4 bolts holding mine on,it then just fell onto the drive.
